Topic: 1976 Grille Restoration

We've been looking a long time for a company to re-chrome our grilles. I think we've finally located one in Tallahassee, FL.  Here's their website http://www.customcoatings.net/ He said that it would cost around $275 per grille and current turn around time is 7-8 weeks. Has anyone here done any business with these folks? If not, I guess I'll just have to give our full review of them. We just didn't want our grilles vacuum metalized and that's why we're going this route. Have a great day everyone.

I thought the company I found was high at $150./per.

I'm not being critical at all btw  ...just curious for anymore info you have on the company or process itself.

I was watching Trucks last week and they were showing a process that allows for true chrome plating of items that used to be unable to be done. For example, they were having the fiberglass dash from the hot rod truck they are giving away done. It involves a conductive primer to allow for the copper to be plated to the item. The place they are using is called Advanced Plating http://www.advancedplating.com/ Is this anything like what this place does?

Larry, I saw that same episode. I even called Advanced Plating but they said they couldn't do it.  I asked if he recommended anyone that could and that's when he said Custom Coatings.

This was through www.autoinstruments.com ....they use vacuum metallizing.

Call Graves Plating in Florence, Al. They do great work. Perhaps they can help you.

^ Just checked out their website. I don't think they do plastic plating. Thanks for the tip anyway.
