to prime or not prime

So I'm going to repaint my intake, (hopefully i can get the correct color) I read on a mopar restoration tip page to not prime it. What do you guys think?

Don't prime the intake .......

Thanks, I've heard of people doing it with engine por 15 paint,  but not sure of any pros or cons

Most decent engine paints are also have self priming characteristics. Take the POR15 tin and kick it as far as their well paid advertising goes.

I have used por 15 under the chassis,  it worked well, as long as it was cleaned

It is not required to prime it. The most important thing is the prepping.
