Value 79 TA with 15K 2 owner
« on: October 25, 2011, 06:35:23 PM »
Hi, was wondering what my 79 TA with a 403 and 15K original 2 owner car is worth. Car has original paint, drivetrain, exhaust, belts etc. 1st owner did put speakers in rear side panels and cut console to put in a CB and stereo (car was a radio delete) along with some toggle switches. He also painted radiator shroud Glossy black. I realize these things can be changed back to original. I will post some photos. Thanks Paul

I'm no good at determining value but that's a beautiful car you have there!

Well with the way the car market is now it's hard to tell it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. If your thinking about selling it I'd hang on to it for awhile till the market turns around. My guess right now with this economy maybe 20,000 or less.

Is that what they call Atlantis Blue? That is a gorgeous color.

You forgot to mention 4 wheel discs if I am not mistaken?  Hell I hope mine looks that good when finished!

Hey, can  you tell me the height from the floor to the bottom of that beam that looks like its laying across the hood of the '70Z?

That looks like a tight fit, but you got them stacked. I may have more room than I thought...

The height from floor to ceiling is 111" and height from floor to beam is 93". there is about 3" from hood of 70Z to beam,3" from roof of 70Z to ceiling, and 3" from roof of bottom car to tops of ramps. Lucky 3's I guess!! Hope you can stack too. Paul

Do you folks think I would be better off to get a new console and rear side panels and take CB out to bring interior back to original? I sometimes wonder if I should but then I wonder if some buyers would think the CB is cool, a 70's thing. Thanks for the feedback so far. Paul

i would guess closer to 25K or more and i would leave it as is, let the new owner decide what to do with interior alterations, it's part of the car now and has been that way for a long time.  just not sure how much demand is for that color scheme and the 403 when it is not a SE.  low mileage original cars usually go for big bucks if in great condition.  i saw several non se's at mecum for 25-35K in this type of scenario.  find the right buyer and you will get good $ for this ta.  fully restored non se's were going for 20-25K all day at mecum.
