To all:
How far would you drive to enjoy sharing a weekend with your fellow Firebird enthusiasts? I am putting together a "Drury Inn-2008 NATS" type of gathering in Dundee, Michigan next June 19, 2010. Early Birds can arrive on Friday the 18th. I am hoping to draw enthusiasts from a 2-4 hour radius of Dundee, Mi. If we pull 2 dozen cars from 3 states Mi, Ohio & Indiana that would be a decent draw.

Confirmed date June 19 Earl Birds can arrive on Friday the 18th.
The Mayfly Festival in Downtown Dundee want us to parade to the Festival and park out front as we did before (police escort).
Holiday Inn gave me the o.k. for us to party in the lot as long as we have plastic cups & keep orderly.
Contract is in the mail with discounted room rates & booking information.
I have a flyer I just need to touch up the loose ends & I will post it with Hitmans help.

WOW! It's October, still have to struggle through winter, but am happy I have Dundee to plan for. I'm definately going to stay 2 nights, coming in Friday afternoon. Had a business trip to Cloumbus this past week, and the boss stopped for a stroll through Cabela's, really got me thinking about the gathering in June! :)

I got my room for Sat night back in Nov.. and just called them to see about Fri. night. I just wanted to get a head count for Fri.

Make sure you are getting the rooms for $89.00 King or queen. They did not have us in the system prior to today if you called earlier.

I am hooking up with several sponsors. I plan on giving out goody bags to a limited amount of attendees, & or door prizes. Not just a bag full of of flyers, I'm talking t-shirts, gift certificates, & maybe even some www.78ta promotional items (if Hitman reads this!!)

I can't wait to get my 76 and Hammer's 76 to meet up.
I need to get busy once the weather breaks.
Need to swap the auto to a 5 speed manual, replace the leaking rear seal, install the lower dip stick and a few other things.
One problem. I may need to go home a few times, wish I could stay the whole day.
I have 2 dogs. Wish I could bring the guys along but one is 175lbs. He is bigger than Hammer! Don't know how I could get him in there.

oh thats a good way to make sure i spend 0 time with fellow bird owners. can you imagine this.... 3 kids and my wife playing in the water and not expecting me to participate as much as i hate water parks etc? yeah that would go down just sweet for me. looks like the family may have to stay home for this one

I booked last week.
The mayfly fest was a blast when i went 2 years ago. This is a great location for hanging out, very low key, no pressure. Car wash .25 mile a way. Medi center across the street hahahahaha! (Maryland Bandit's kid was beating up on mine lol)
The show parking, Cabella's and hotel are all one big complex... it's really nice.

The hotel manager mentioned there has been a tremendous spike of people booking for the show recently & they are not pulling the remaining block of rooms as they suggested earlier. Keep on pushing your friends to come & join us. We original blocked 75 rooms!!!

i know but this is one event I was truely looking forward to going to with my ta. hopefully once i swap out the intake and carb I can have better luck but knowing my luck out comes the motor immediately afterwards. dont know why i would need to do that over a want to put the #'s block in

I was really wanting to go to this also but we are having my daughters birthday party the same day.
It is one of the only ones I would ever possibly be able to goto since it is only about a half hour from my house.

FYI, a suspected tornado came through the area and did some damage to the hotel,
I think it is just some minor roof damage.
Just thought you guys would like to know.

Just spoke to the reservations desk that is filling in for Holiday Inn Express in Dundee. Not sounding good, the hotels roof was torn off in the Tornado, Dundee staff will begin fielding calls fron their Shipsewana location in Indiana, 2-1/2 hours away from Dundee. This really bites! But Mother Nature has her own agenda, hopefully more information will be available, but their is a LOT of damage caused by the Tornado in Dundee :(

That's the first thing that came to mind when I saw the news on the Weather Channel, told my wife that I wondered if that tornado was going to affect the show. I figured that I was just kidding, what were the chances. Pretty good, it seems. That really sucks, I hope something works out between now and then.

Talked to Joe D. who organized this event, he is going to talk to his contact at the hotel, we'll see what happens. Hopefully something can be worked out, I suspect we'll all know in the next day or two.

To All,
Due to the recent tornado damage, The 2010 Firebird Dundee Car show has been canceled.
The engineers will be arriving next week to assess the damage. At this time I decided to cancel rather than move event to an alternative hotel. It does not look like we will be open for the weekend of the mayfly festival.
Unfortunately our booking engine is still not up and running and I am unable to check the reservations made under your block. You should be getting a call from IHG guest services to cancel the rooms.
I apologize about the inconvenience this may cause but I appreciate your concerns and understanding in this matter.
Thank you and hopefully we can get something going next year.
