I used a Scotch Brite pad on the aluminum parts, just scuffed them up and painted. Used a wire brush on the steel hose fittings.
Here's the aluminum paint I used. I think I ordered it from Summit.

Okay, so here's the latest. Body guy has car, says it will be 2 months as he has a full time job. Pretty much at this point I told him not to rush. I really wanted to be wrapping this project up by the end of summer, but it's not gonna happen. New plan is to take my time and get her assembled this winter. Wanting to possibly do the Hot Rod Power Tour next year. We will see!

Hood stripped down revealing several dings

Been trying to get other things done while the car is away.

Will keep you posted with body and paint pics

Still waiting on body guy to figure out when he is gonna paint. Now he can't get the nose piece to hold primer. Very frustrating!!!
Hoping for great results when done but have a bad feeling.
Here's the latest pic.

Will update when something happens.

Painting has finally begun!!!!! He is starting with the small parts, mirrors, spoilers etc. Having trouble capturing good pictures of the color.

I'm heading there today to pick up more parts, I'll post more pics tonight.

Car is painted!!! Pretty happy with the results. Still needs to paint hood, trunk deck and nose piece.

A couple pics

Picking up the car Wednesday night, then the fun begins! Still need to wet sand and spray another coat of clear. Will probably assemble everything then clear again.

Picked her up tonight and hauled her home, we hung the front fenders to transport them. Still have to move and adjust them to get them perfect, but need the hood before that happens.
