air cleaner drop
« on: January 22, 2012, 11:44:34 PM »
I put a 455 olds in an 80 trans am.  Any one have any ideas, tips or pics on what they did to lower the air cleaner to allow the shaker to fit?  I have an air gap manifold on it now and would like to keep it.  I know its a long way to go, just would like to see what others have done.  Thanks!

what I did was notch the bottom of air cleaner base so it would sit on the 800 carb nice then I took the metal ring off the shaker cut it down 1 inch put it  back on shaker and it worked perfectly if you want to see it look at poorboys dream engine pics if you need more info let me know
