There is no such thing as a "Hurst Edition" Formula or Trans Am.  Alot of people call it that because it was sent to Hurst Performance to have the Hurst T-tops installed.  So, they just use that name and call it a "Hurst Edition" when really it is just a normal Formula with Hurst T-tops on it.  So, I would not say he is full of BS, I would just say he is mis-informed and does not know any better.  But, maybe he is trying to lie and pull a fast one and get more money for something that it is not.... we see it all the time.  I usually give the people the benefit of the doubt and just call them misinformed.

Yeah, but the older you get and the more chuckleheads you run across, the harder it gets -- no? :D  :-X

Could be yes.. Hurst also sold alot of stuff back in the day, so it could have come from them and installed by a Dealer or even just a previous owner.

This car was up on the market not all that long ago with the same discussion about the dubious Hurst markings; I wonder what happened?

Geez...I don't know what's worse in that auction...the misleading "Hurst Edition" blah blah blah or the HUGE font with no breaks or spaces  >:(

I hate trying to read a crap description like that  ::)

Last year there was somebody using the Hurst Trans Am sales pitch on E-Bay that was discussed here . That one even had  Hurst Name  patches on the seat covers.

Here's the link.

ive found a few others claiming to be hurst editions with almost identical colors and emblem placings, think this is possibly something a dealership did to a few dozen cars or something?  i find it odd that alot of them are black and gold and have the same emblems in the front corners?

searching online thou, u can find a hurst edition in just about any make or model you want ;D ::)

Original or not, I rather like the look of that 'Hurst' Formula but then again I like the black and gold version anyway! Shame only a few of the photos in the link still worked, I wanted to see them all. Is it for sale elsewhere with a link?
I thought the date would give it away, most of the Hurst editions were late 60's/ early 70's as opposed to a 77 with not so performance options.
