Engine shops?
« on: June 21, 2006, 06:30:40 PM »
Hey im a New member.  i was wondering if anyof you guy s know of any engine shops that build 400 ci pontiacs.  I need at least 425hp, and it needs to be able to withstand 150 NOS shots.  I have only found one place with a resonable price.  So if anyone knows of anyone.  oO and they have to Ship it to Canada.

Thanks
Scott Storey

DCI Motorsports, this is where i bought my new motor which is a 400 with 400 hp. this guy is a Pontiac specialist and has been doing it for 25 years. Believe me when i tell you, this guy can build an engine the right way!!!he's also rebuilding my tranny and an original q-jet carb for me so he's a well rounded mechanic. i bouhgt the complete motor for 1200 bucks and it only has 30,000 miles on it since rebuild. thats a good price. by the way his shop is located in Mogadore Ohio which is 5minutes from Summit Racing. His number is 1-(330)-628-3354.

Talk to Bill Lemon at Floyd's Hot Rods in Groveport, Ohio.  He knows Pontiac 400s inside and out, and in fact lives for them.... and his prices are very reasonable.  Tell him Gordon sent ya. :)

There is also another place here in Macedonia Ohio (man... what is with all of the Ohio Motor shops??)(Where is Maryland Bandit when you need him.... he doesn't like us Ohioians  :D  ).  They could do it for about $4500 or so.

The other place Brett was talking about is Michael's Racing engines, in Macedonia. The have built for Brett, they also Have built Mine and several Big Block Buick motors for my brothers friends. The Build NASCAR SBC motors on a daily basis. The motor they did for me is a 462 Buick, with 575hp, and only 9.5-1 compression. The total build cost me just over 6k. Their # is 330 467 1661.

http://www.pontiacengines.net/

Greg Merrick of Longmont Colorado built two for me and shipped them here to Kentucky. 500 hp nitrous injected, ready to drop in.  The cost is dependent on how much power you want.  Pontiac is all he does.

Marcel at SD Performance in Canada does great work too.  He turns out some awesome heads for Ponchos.
