Black and Blue Trans Am
« on: March 21, 2012, 11:20:17 PM »
Here is my 78 Trans Am 455HO.
Just got the new 17" YO Snowflakes mounted.  The sun was just about down so it was hard to get any good pictures.

Sweet ride. You're right about the sun, it looks almost navy in the pictures.

How do you like your wheels?

Thanks for the compliments on the color combo.

I love the wheels so far!  I think they really complete the car nicely.

LOoks really good!  You don't see that color combo often which is cool.  I get tired of Black and gold, nice to see something different.  Are you planning on lowering it some?

what color is that, nocturne blue?  usually don't like the big
hood bird on the 78's but that looks great.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone!  I will try to get some better pictures soon to better show the colors.

N PRGRES - I may lower it a little sometime in the future, but only about an inch front and back at the most (I like a level ride height).  Those Hooker long tube headers are already pretty close to the ground.

Squirrel - its black paint, but the sun/my lack of photography skills, made it look kinda blue.  Like you, I usually like the 78 decals better too, but I like the look of my decals.  I might change them when it needs a new paint job...

Nice car and I love the look of it. Great backround with the mountain range in the backround. Did you attatch the scoop to the hood? How 'bout a motor shot when you get a chance. Mike

Black and Blue is starting to grow on me. Looks great JJ_TA! Love the 77/78 front-end...what I was originally looking for but found everything else I was looking for in a '79 (original 400, 4 speed, t-tops). Mine will need fresh paint in the coming years and thought about going classic black/gold but I do like the way that blue pops on the black. It is very hard to capture in pictures, looks better in person!

Here is my 1979:

Thanks Joe!

Mike - Thats Utah for ya!  Usually a lot more snow in the mountains though..  I current have a Holley 770 Carb, and there is an adapter between it and the Edelbrock intake manifold.  The scoop sits pretty level with the hood and rubs a little bit...  Not a huge problem, but I will definitely trade out the carb for an Edelbrock and remove the adapter sometime in the future.  I will get an engine shot ASAP.

GPLover - I agree, you really have to see the colors in person to fully appreciate them.  A few years ago, I would search the internet constantly looking for the black and blue color combo and only found a couple!  I think they were both 79's.. who knows, one might have been yours?   I'd say keep rocking the black and blue when you get some new paint, unless you want an original color combo.  I think your blue interior adds a lot to the color combo too, looks good.
