NOS lombardy cloth with hobnail inserts...  this guy said and I quote "THIS INTERIOR CAN NEVER BE DUPLICATED. The interior on this car is so rare that no one reproduces it. It can also never be duplicated because he bought the last ORIGINAL yardage of material left in existence. THERE IS NO MORE, PERIOD."  He is trying to say that there is NO NOS cloth, seats, anything ANYWHERE... I call bull crap on this.

This guy is using selling points that only a non TA fanatic would believe, and what kills me, there is 27 bids on this car so I am guessing some guys were trying to get this car cheap, and was bidding when it was low.

The verbal diarrhoea used in the add sets off alarm bells in my mind straight away about the car and its condition.

But all that aside it looks a good buy for around 12K, each to there own and good luck to him in his endeavours to sell his car.

If the owner is famous then he should reveal his name in the auction...It would maybe bring more?

wouldn't you expect a much better paint job from a guy who charges 70 k for a paint job? i mean, seriously, that looks like any other run of the mill paint job

Wild Bill, I was merely making the statement about real hobnail cloth and was simply making you aware of that fact because many people don't know about it. That's what this community is all about, sharing information. And yeah that guy is full of bs but quite frankly there is nothing we can do about it. There will always be someone trying to pull a fast one on the unimformed.

The only thing I wanted to do with this guy was share the laughter that I encountered, that's all I wanted to do with it! I know there isn't anything we can do about this guy.....but i think we should all have a good laugh at his expense :)

I did laugh when I read it, mission accomplished. :)

Now my question to you is...Do we laugh or feel sorry for the sucker who decides to buy this?

oh, def. we should feel sorry...... this guy has not posted any under body pics where "no rust" is, and the trunk, only real pictures of the outside, one door panel, and a front shot of the interior...

i bought a 79 ta once where the guy said NO RUST WHATSOEVER, looked it over real quick, didn't see any, thought... good deal, a few months later, took off the under coating to really check it out and saw the rust holes, about 3 of them, about the size of my fist

he said ( I am helping out the Pontiac Historical Society with info on this car. )

for 1 ,  PHS doesnt need his help . they have all the info they need

2,  I say, if he truly was talking to PHS they would of set him strait a long time ago.  that PHS document will tell him what he has.

3,  I told him all you got to do is post pics of the vin and body tag.  and the dealers window sheet from PHS. that all the info we need.

I was talking to my CPA this morning and showed him this add. he told me eBay is legal binding contract. and when the new owner finds out the car is not what he said it is . he can be charged with fraud.

he has no written proof backing up what we has listed.

seems to me if he's talking to PHS , I would find out for sure what it is from them before listing it.  if it were this rare car it would be worth 5 times his sale price.
