Wouldn't dream of it! Just going to find myself a nice A/C compressor. Theres some local guys that do nothing but part out Trans Ams, so I'll just be lookingthem up.

Ran new brake lines and new pads all the way around, hope that resolves my brake problem. The pedal wasn't coming all the way back out, and the brake lights are always on. I thought it was the Booster, but once we pulled the brakes off, we realized they were ground down pretty bad and the lines were all shot, so we'll see.

Well, my old man crawled up under the car this past weekend while I was down south, and to our surprise the subframe is painted black, no corrosion spots at all, and looks pretty darn clean and in great shape!! Minus all the red clay (if you've ever lived in GA, you know exactly what I'm talking about). I'm very happy about this! When I'm back next weekend we're going to hit it with some dergeaser and the pressure washer and clean out all the gunk and see how good of shape it really is!

Sorry for the lack of updates lately! School and work are starting to be really time consuming and tiring. Got the new Brake booster on, and I'm pretty sure that solved the whole brake problem we were having with the pedal not coming all the way back out quickly and being firm. It pretty much has to be what was wrong at this point, we've done new brake lines, new calipers, and new pads, so the booster was last in the chain. Now focusing on the dash, fixing the cigerette lighter, the clock (just the second hand works) and the one missing light bulb. Will update with some pictures in my next post!

Yeah, it was just very annoying!! I don't really know what to do with this motor either. I want to drive the car, and I want it to be my cruiser and driver, the most I have to drive is probably no more then 5 miles a day on average...and every now and then a 300 mile drive to my folks house. The motor is at 170,000 right now...rebuild the original 403 and drive on it?? I mean it made it this far, i think if it was fresh, it could make it another 160,000... thoughts?

I would drive it until it quits, then I would rebuild the 403 and give it fresh start, make it more reliable too.

if it ain't broke then don't fix it...right now that way you can still enjoy the car then maybe...I was going to say this winter but I guess you don't have winter in dallas...rebuild it then!!!

that isn't really that helpful is it?

By Dallas, my location means Dallas GA, which is right in the foothill of the Blue Ridge and Red Top, yes we have winter!! But I live in South GA now, and no, we don't have any winter ha, unless you consider 55 degrees for 2 weeks a winter. I think I'll just rebuild it later on. I don't want to ruin the block, because if the block goes out, then there goes the value of restoring this number matching Anniversary...

Hmm, my Tach and my Cruise both stopped working at the same time the other day. Any ideas?

Fixed!! The cruise and the tach are on an accessory wiring harness, little white tube with a small fuse. Fuse showed no continuity..popped in a new one and was good to go! Man those red lights in the dash look amazing
