18" wheels
« on: December 11, 2010, 11:28:14 AM »
Hey was looking to get some 18" BOSS 338 wheels for my 78 TA.  Can anyone tell me if 18x8 w/ 4.5" BS for the fronts and 18x9.5 w/ 5"BS for the rear fit on a stock TA? Also any suggestions on tire size?

Im not sure about those rims, but im running 9.5 x 19 and 8.5 x 19 on my bird with no problems at all.  They run 255 all round, but im thinking of putting 275 on the rear.

Can I see pictures of your car Sir English with the rims? Im thinking of getting 17's too eventually and I'm curious how they look on these cars.

I would definitly purt 275's on the rear as well.  I have a set of 275-45-17 for my car, that are going on in the spring. Kevin check out any pics of my car, it has 17's on it.

18" would be as far as I'd go. I think I'll get some some 18" American Racing Torque Thrust II's and put some of those "Rad Capz"on there that Not a TA sells.

I know TT2's are cliche but I really like the look of them, they remind me a lot of Crager SS's but they stand out well.

very unique.  def a different look to it.  but i would agree it needs some substantial lowering.  how low you thinkin about going?

Any suggestions?

This is not my car, but I spoke with some awhile back who had bought it or was going to buy it and asked them to send me pictures of the car since it had these wheels on it and I was planning on getting these wheels also.  So they will work and I think they look good on it.

You still going to go with those wheels? Those are the TT2's right? Nice color.

Yeah I am still going with these wheels, and no they are the Boss 338's.  These are priced a lot better then TT2's.  I have awhile till I am going to get any wheels though now.  Work on the car has been put on hold again.

They actually just came out with a polished version also.  I am either going with the polished, or the gray center.
