Thanks Tom....Can't wait to see you too.  Will you need another candle gift basket to bid on or are you bringing her with you???  :D

We are meeting in Dundee next Wed 10/22 to finalize the reg form.  Couple changes: Dinner at the hotel will be Saturday night as the Mayfly Fest had to be moved to another weekend due to someone not reviewing dates when they booked the Old Mill for 2009. Sorry but we can't move with them as it is to close to POCI (about 6days).  Friday will be a spur of the moument gathering in the trailer parking lot to chat & socialize. We also have changed this year to help out the local Humane Society of Monroe County...It's time the small 4 legged friends get help too. We will be holding a food drive and/or items from there wish list. This agency is not funded by any state or federal goverment. All there monies and supplies come from donations.

Remember to Register early!!!!!

FThe tentative date for the 2009 show will be June 19-21. We will have a "go/no go" deadline of June 1. ........ As of the date of this message, we need 130 paid registrations to make the 2009 show happen.

Man, I don't like the sound of that......

I don't know if I'm going to upset anyone by asking this question but......do you think there are just too many "bird-specific" shows or maybe it's asking too much to have a big Firebird show in Michigan when you already have the T/A Nationals down in Ohio?  And now there is STARS in Florida and the BAN-ONE show in Atlanta.

Not trying to stir the pot here, and I don't have a dog in the fight, just playing devils adviocate I guess.

i'm following pointman 's lead on this. I am going to bring two cars, so i guess they only need 126 more. I truly encourage you guys here to go. How many all firebird shows are there? I'm not going to florida for stars when the possiblity of snow exists here in ohio. That just tain't happn'en. it's a nice show, close, come on go with us on this, less than 200 miles! The indy people, ohio people and michigan people need to support this show strongly. I am an ohio person and honestly i don't see going to even saratoga due to the distance/time. This show is close and reasonably priced. and you get judged by real experienced judges. The people are nice and have gone through some tough times financially and emotionally to put this together. A "Go No Go" date is a fair statement. we can not expect people like us to sacrafice their personal expenses for a show for the cars we love, thats just not right. If you feel i am pointing you out unfairly then so be it. This is definately not the type of talk we should be having about a "local" show for our babies. Come on guys and gals, help out participate, bring a car, encourage your friends to bring a car.

My car even got hit at the mayfly festival two years ago, i did not make the prior years show, i paid and got my goody bag at dayton, thank you, and the show was cancelled last year because i amongst others were slow to register. But even though my car got hit, and it still cost me $2300 out of my own pocket to fix it beyond the other guys insurance, i still support these people and the show and no i do not know the people running the show.

I truly am shocked that any thing but positive encouragement would be written about this show.

this is a good show and i look forward to seeing my buddy Gerrit at this show and the rest of you, please support this show. Tim

I really think a road trip is in order for this show. Its not too far, sounds like a great drive. See you guys there! Only 570 miles....10 hrs drive.

Thanks Hammer. I have a high school buddy that lives in Niagara Falls. I'll stop in there for a couple nights to break up the ride. Should be fun.

Ah, you can make 570 in less than 10 hours.  I used to drive from Hampton, Virginia to my dad's place near Detroit, Michigan (790 miles) in 11 hours.  ;)  8)  Won't be making that drive anymore though, since he moved down to Tennessee this summer.

Of course I need to finish dyeing my interior and re-install. Clean up and paint my engine. Wet sand and polish the car. Install the chrome window molding before I can show it there. Should be done by then.   LOL

If I can stash a few bucks from next years tax refund away, I will try like hell to make Dundee and Dayton. Right now though, they are a distant dream. My take home pay wont even take me home.
