INFO NEEDED!!!
What is the correct air cleaner base for a 79 W72 400? I know there has been some discussion on this in the past but I am needing just a little bit more info on my searching for the correct base and lid.
1. I know that the correct style will have the oval snorkel on it. The problem comes in that I have seen 2 styles of these. The first style is round around the seal ring and round at the base. The second style seems to have an indentation or a recessed area on the bottom of the base, closest to the distributor. Which is correct for the 79 W72? What did each style go to?
2. Are the lids different for the 79 W72 as well? Lids different between the years?
3. Can anyone comment on the position of the opening for the carb in relation to the top of the base? This appears to be higher on some bases than others.
