Move that Trans am, ah decal please
« on: July 23, 2007, 12:55:15 AM »
Hi Guys
If ya look at the pic of my TA you'll see the Trans Am decal on the front, is just in front of the hood !

Q I dont think this is correct ? should it not be on the top of the front edge, just forward of the headlamp area.

Q Can I remove this gently with a heat gun, like any decal ?

Q Can I purchase this decal as a stand alone, without purchasing a whole kit ?

Those are your questions, you have 15 seconds your time starts NOW  ;D

The decal seems ok but the photo is small so its hard for me to tell.  If you need to remove it though a heat gun will help just be careful, and I know Brett can order the decals individually.

The decal should not be at the top by the hood, but lower like you said. Below the headlights.
But at the top of the grille section, just below the headlights.

Hope this helps,

Yes, the decal should be low on the nose like this one:

Yes, you can remove it with a heat gun, but you must be VERY careful because the nose could warp.  I would use a heat gun on the metal body of the car, but try and avoid it on the bumpers and spoilers because not only could you warp it, but the paint will also tend to bubble alot quicker if you are not careful.  Yes, this decal can also be ordered separately.

lyle71,
I bought the car used, for $3,600.00!
Not only that, but the guy let me make payments for a year!
The original owner paid over $30,000.00 new back in 1979.
I got it from the original owner.
It helped that I knew him from a few years eariler. ;D
