Hey all,
Been lurking for some time, and have finally gotten around to chiming in on the forum. My new acquisition is an Ebay find that I received about a month ago. I'd actually been searching for a 77 or 78, but the more I looked at the older "round headlight" models, the more they grew on me. My only requirement was that the car was in drivable condition and not in need of any major mechanical repair. After some research, it became apparent that the '75 models were the least desirable of the Second Gens., hence the least expensive. So, I found one in Chicagoland that was listed in "excellent running condition." After owning and driving it, I can say that she is truly a monster that starts right up and goes.
Here's what I know about the car. The motor (400) and trans (TH350) were rebuilt less than 1000 miles ago. Not sure if the engine is original. Comp Cam (unknown which, but previous owner thinks it is a 268H), #46 heads off a '73 GTO (previous owner says bigger intake valves were installed, but I have not verified). Edelbrock Pontiac Performer Idle intake, Edelbrock Thunder EVS 650cfm carb, headers (unknown brand), and Flowmaster 40's (too loud). The only issues besides the paint and body are the fuel and voltage guages don't work, and the shift lever is loose (but the trans shifts great).
I'm very much a beginner and that's the main reason I wanted a mechanically complete car. I'd like to be able to drive the thing during the learning process. So far so good. Anyway I posted a link to my Gallery that I hope you all are able to open and check the pics. Thanks for reading.
