Ok Guys here's my input.
Tom runs a great show, I hope we can get this show to be as big as National's in the future.
With the ever growing turn out, we are on our way to making this happen with everyone's help and attendance. The Nat's is a great show but the number of entries have been falling.
I hope Tom's show will fill the gap with the old Nat's crew and some new comers.
Nice part is there is no politics here either, the best cars win.
Just the way it should be.
Hope to see all of you guys there in the future.
To the others that will be there. I'll see you this weekend.

Tony, I echo your feelings exactly. Tom's show started out averaging 75-90 cars. We pushed it hard on TAC back in 2006, they broke 105 cars, I think. Now, a few years later he's knocking on the door of 200+ cars attending. Why? Because, like Great Lakes, its the PEOPLE that run the show that care! Attitude and listening to the atendees input, not my way or the highway. Tom's biggest problem for 2010 and beyond will be finding a larger field to hold it, and thats a good problem to have. The money raised for Special Olympics is fantastic. Yes, your right, the best cars win! I don't care if I ever place in Saratoga, just going there and hanging out is fun enough! Between the two clubs, we push this event and yea, 300 cars isn't a far fetch down the road. See you in 4 days!

GPS shows a tad over 6 hours to Marriott Fairfield, in Malta. Add in a gas stop and food. We're rolling out of Md at 7 am Friday. Should be there between 2-3 pm. Dip in the pool and a nap, then the cruise in at 5, I think. Should be a fun time, looking forward to it.

« Reply #68 on: July 09, 2009, 06:45:42 PM »
Gentlemen and Ladies, Start Your Engines!

THE 7th Annual All Firebird Lawn Show IS A GO FOR Saturday JULY 11, 2009.  PLEASE READ Time Table and Last Minute Details BELOW!

Forecast for Saratoga Springs zip 12866 and the Friday night cruise is excellent.  This Cruise will be the best All Firebird Cruise yet with Saratoga Springs Police Department escort and good weather.  If you did not pre-register, no problem.  Just show up.  The Cruise with SSPD escort is free to all show participants.  See details below.

Forecast for Saturday calls for sunny morning and clouds in the afternoon with temps around 80.  Local weather people at www.WTEN.com say rain will probably come after 5 or 6 p.m.

Many of you are coming from NY, VT, NH, ME, MA, CT, RI, NJ, MD, DE, VA, PA, OH, and even AZ!  Our neighbors to the north are coming from Quebec and Ontario Canada.  Many of you are coming so far and have room reservations with cancellation penalties and long drives back home.  And many of you are coming in on Friday July 10 to be part of the All Firebird Cruise to Mr. Eds.  Everyone meets at 5:00 p.m. at the Saratoga Auto Museum and leaves at 5:30 p.m. with Saratoga Springs Police escort to Mr. Eds.

Therefore, THE 7th Annual All Firebird Lawn SHOW IS A GO FOR Saturday July 11, 2009 from 9AM - 4PM at Saratoga Auto Museum with 50-50 raffle, car corral, food, beverages, vendors, prizes, etc.  Please say a little prayer to the Sun gods!   In the event of dark clouds on Saturday afternoon, we will speed up awards presentations as much as possible to get everyone on their way as quickly as possible.

http://clubs.hemmings.com/frameset.cfm?club=firebirdnationofnorthamerica/download.html
Aerial Map is on page 2 to guide you to the show field entrance and trailer parking.

This year we have even more trophies, more prizes, more food, and more Firebirds.  As a reminder, the purpose and focus of our show is on fundraising for Special Olympics, annual reunion of the Firebird family, and exchange of knowledge.  Although our show has many of the trappings of a national event, we strive to maintain a casual atmosphere without tech lines and politics.  We hope you will mingle with Firebird enthusiasts & Special Olympics athletes and coaches.  We encourage you to be generous with your donations upon entry and generous with your food & t-shirt purchases.  We trust you will have a fun Firebird time and enjoy more than 150 wonderful Firebirds that are coming from 14 US states and 2 provinces in Canada.  Our farthest pre-registered Firebird comes from Arizona!

We thank you for your attendance & generosity.  All money raised is collected by Special Olympics Volunteers and FNONA members and goes directly to Special Olympics programs.

We got BALL PARK FRANKS by Mike the Hot Dog Chef, COCA-COLA beverages and Water by the Beverage Queens, 50-50 RAFFLE by FNONA member Keith Tanny and his sons, SPONSOR RAFFLE prizes donated by NFTAC, Ames Performance, Saratoga Auto Museum, and NYRA.  Did I mention we have the best goodie bag you will get at any show ever??

We have a few vendors that pay us a fee to be here.  Returning is Jim Valentino from http://www.photowheels.com/ offering his beautiful Car Portraits plus a new Cotton Candy vendor.

A Word to the Wise: This event is held inside the Saratoga SPA State Park which is continuously patrolled by NYS Park Police, a division of the NYS Troopers.  Radar & Laser are used on a daily basis.  The Park speed limit is 25 miles per hour everywhere in the park.  Please drive safely, be careful, and respect all park property.

As we grow, our insurance requires a few more ground rules set in place:

All Vehicle owners must register at the show trailer and sign a release form.  A minimum $10 donation to Special Olympics is required.

Adequate space between each vehicle will be provided to reduce the chance of damage to vehicles.  If any driver requests additional space, we will try to accommodate you.

Vehicle owners may consider roping off their vehicle to protect it from damages caused by spectators.

Vehicle owners should have someone at their vehicle at all times.

The show grounds are a NO PET ZONE.  No umbrellas, tents, alcohol, glass containers, and NO PETS OR BICYCLES are allowed on the show field.  Umbrellas or tents are allowed only on the adjacent fields separated by stone walking paths. Chair umbrellas are ok.
