While I am at it,  I have a few more questions for you guys.  
Powdercoat the frame?  I have sub frame connectors that will need to go in but I cant put them in now
because there is no load on the car. So in theory I would have to grind that off to weld in the sub frame connectors and thus messing up the powder coat.  Should I just POR15 the frame?

I have been reading up on what to coat the bottom of the car with but the more I read,  the more confused I get.   I doubt por 15 would stick to anything that isnt rusty,  so thats out.  I would like to put an etch primer on it to prevent future rust,  however the etch primer and the 2k primers arent compatible.  
Possibly a chassis black type coating?

these two are my next to major's once I get the engine back together and get rid of all the engine parts all over my garage.. lol

Sorry didn't read through all your post but are you going nuts & bolts resto or driver or somewhere in between? If the last (2) are you, might I recommend a good epoxy primer once you've got all the rust cleaned off? Otherwise, you might want to look at POR 20 - its a chassis coat that is UV stable so it does not need to be topcoated.

Unless you buy UV stable POR15, you will need to top coat it before the car sees daylight otherwise the sun will break down POR15. This is per the manufacturer.

As for powder coating the front subframe - mine is and I do not believe that the shop needed to grind away at anything to install the Competition Engineering bolt in subframe connectors on the Y88.

I am creating somewhere in between.  I am doing a frame off restore,  replacing everything that needs replacing, salvaging what I can.  This is a long term project that I am doing as I have the time and finances allow.  So I guess that is somewhere in between.

The subframe connectors I have are SSM Weld In Connectors.

Since you're using weld in subframe connectors you will need to grind down the front subrframe (rear as well) to bare metal in order to make your weld. At that point, I'd probably look at a good epoxy paint.

And I'm assuming you have solid body mounts purchased as rubber won't cut it for weld ins - you'll break the welds the first time the body flexes otherwise.

Good work so far on your bird. I thought I would chime in with some info. I have used quite a bit of the por-15 product line on mine. The black por-15 by the manufacuter states that the sun will change it cosmetically but not the chemical rust preventative protection. I used black por15 on my sub frame and top coated it with the por20 chassis black over coat. The manufacturer also stated it will work for non rusted parts if it is preped right. They also say do not use any type of chemical to remove any paint on what you are going to use it on because the chemical remover will affect the por15. I have also used the it on my control arms and the silver on my spindles. I will be using it on my rear end to. I chose to use summits chassis shield as I was informed it was an epoxy and mine is going to be inbetween a driver and a show car as well. Hope this helps and good luck.

Thanks for the info,  I definately look into it soon.  I am trying to get my motor wrapped up. I am held for lifters and pushrods,  they are paid for,  but chasing suppliers.    My near term plans are get the motor finsihed up,  clean the garage again,  then finally get back to my floor pan, and undercoating. 

I am so envyous of some of you with huge shops to do this sort of stuff in.

I would put my total cost for the rotisserie at 60 bucks.  25 in lumber and 35 in bolts and washers.

It was actually very easy to flip.  I used a floor jack to get me started,  then the rest was a balancing act.  I did it completely by myself and slid the front and back away from the side of the garage a couple times.

Here is the parts list for the rotisserie.
 
The curve parts was made from a 1 1/2 desktop I had around.  30 x 24 x 1 1/2 with around a 24" radius.  I screwed one side of a piece of metal into it then rotated it from  the bottom until it went off the board.
 
2:  2 x 8 x 84 for the Main boards
1:  4 x 4 x 42 for the front connect point.
2:  2 x 6 x 24 for the leg on the rotating side.
2:  2 x 6 x 30 for the other leg.
2:  2 x 4 x 36 for the Up portion
2:  2 x 4 x 60 for the Up portion brace.

I finally made some progress over the summer.  Its been too hot to go sand the bottom of the car.. lol
Here it is with the floor pan issues fixed and some SPI Epoxy Primer on it.
