dude this v10 does better on gas than my wifes 5.4 in the expedition. she gets 12.5mpg and i get 13mpg.  which is far better than the 10mpg my 1/2 ton 5.2 dodge got and 8mpg the 5.7 my other dodge got. and the 6.0liter my old chevy also got 10mpg as long as i didnt tow otherwise it was more like 8mpg. the ford is 13 across the board even if i am towing. and it is only 2mpg less than my buddies 6.0 liter diesel superduty is getting.

Well thats crummy fuel mileage too in my book. My F350 is a V10, 4 wheel drive, 5 speed manual and pretty sure 4:10 gears so I understand the some of the root causes of my poor fuel mileage. My friends Duramax, allison 5 speed auto, 4 wheel drive gets 21 MPG and runs like a raped ape compared to my V10. Overall kind of satisfied with the power but 12-13 mpg is pretty poor for driving normally. sorry to bomb your post. I do LOVE my truck tho and she's never let me down in 200K.

on the cruise control alot of people just unpluged the connector from the master cylinder witch will make it get no power and not work. Have you checked your regulator to see if thats good because that could cause your starting problems.

well i gave up today. I dont have enough, time, patience and proper tools to inspect it much more than i have so far. I am a glass and body guy and mechanical to a degree. electrical being my down fall especially. when i did turn wrenches i only focused on where the money was at with my certs. steering, suspension and brakes. with that being said. a shop i do work for said $45 for them to inspect it and take it from there.

well I gave up and brought it in to a shop today. Turns out I was right the whole time. I shouldnt have listened to anyone who doubted me the first time. I thought right from the start it was the fuel pump but i had ALOT of local's telling me their either dead or they are not. well this thing was limping along for 3MONTHS!!! when it wouldnt start, 0-10psi then it would shoot up to 40 and start. go figure right?
it wasnt so bad on the pocket. I provided a new fuel pump and fuel filter I bought on ebay. I paid only $37 for the fuel pump brand new with a 5 year warranty. and like $5 for the fuel filter.
the charge for repair
$45 to look at the truck
and $156 to replace the fuel pump and change the fuel filter while under it.
giving me a total of $243.00 for parts and labor...not bad when most places were selling fuel pumps for this price.

I paid $233 for my fuel pump in my blazer. $300 to install it and flush fuel lines. You made out very well I must say.
