« on: January 27, 2007, 06:43:57 PM »
Anyone know where I can find the coding information for the cowl data plate on my '75?  I checked your site Brett but ... that section is under construction :(

Thanks for the help!

OK, here goes...

ST75  2FS07 N 533971(last digit is pretty faded)
TR 73W(or N)   A51   131   130
01E    WS4    OXB
010940(or 6)

The plate is pretty warn, was hard to distinguish some of the data but I believe everything is right except for the two annotated in paranethesis.  The W might be an N and the last 0 might be a 6.  Is the 6 digit number on the first line suppose to match my VIN?  It doesn't. My VIN is..

:evil:  And I already had the paint ordered, too. :x

Seriously, I don't think there's any harm in posting it but I see a lot of guys are paranoid about revealing theirs (maybe for good reason :?: )

(but I will still steal your identity and run up your Blockbuster movie rental account :lol: )

ok, here is what I have:

ST = Style
75 = 1975
3 = Pontiac
FS = Firebird
87 = 2-door coupe
N = Built in Norwood, OH
533971 = Fisher Run Number
TR = Trim
73W = Oxblood Interior
A51 = Bucket Seats
12L and 13U = Sterling Silver upper and lower body paint
01E = Built the 5th week of January
WS4 = Trans Am
OXB = Oxblood secondary interior color
010940 = Fisher Date Code

The cowl data plate is not suppoed to match the VIN.  Your VIN is a Pontiac number and the cowl plate is a Fisher number.

Hey Rich, this is related to an earlier post question I had, but if your car is Sterling Silver (paint code 13) with the oxblood interior, what color are your graphics??

My graphics are orange/black right now as the car is not silver.  See my signature for a good look at the car both interior and exterior as it sits now.  This is the way I bought it.

It was not a delete car, specifically indicates $55 for the hood bird.  As far as what graphics came on it originally... I wouldn't know where to start finding that as I've not seen that on any of my documentation.

No build sheet ... yet anyway.  I've not even attempted to find it.  I got the info from PHS but nothing on their tells me the color of the bird, just that it was ordered on the car.

OK, sorry -- I didn't realize your car was repainted.  And if/when you find the build sheet, I'm not sure it will tell what color graphics were original, just that some were applied.
