Need help with pully alignment
« on: May 08, 2017, 10:09:36 PM »
Hi,

I'm detailing the engine compartment of my 74 455 Trans Am and I'm to the point where I am starting to put it back together.  I've run into a problem with the alignment of my alternator and power steering pulleys with the water pump and crank pulleys.  I have an assembly manual for the car and I don't see anything obvious I'm leaving out or doing wrong.  The brackets are the ones that came on the car. The alternator is the same, I've replaced the PS pump but reused the old pulley.  This is my first classic Pontiac so I don't have a lot of experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Got it. I left out a spacer at the back of the PS pump.
