78 T/A fan color
« on: May 23, 2016, 08:32:23 PM »
I've just finished sand blasting my radiator fan. I'm prepping it for powder coating. I thought I would color it black. As I blasted it, I thought the blades looked gold. Anyone know for sure what the factory color is? My car has the 400.

Thanks

Mines the 403 and just blasted it as well.  Soon I will send to Powder coat and asking the same question.

I also coated one of my hood hinges but I don't like the color. I'm going to re do it. Trying to find a grey phosphate powder rather then a rattle can. The powder coating seems to be much more durable.

x2 satin black for the fan, there was a little variation in the gloss based on the mix and how heavily the guy spraying it was.

I did my hood hinges in a heavy duty cast iron exhaust manifold paint, probably with ceramic, so it's tough and doesn't chip. But best of all it has the grey look with touch of gunmetal metallic steel.
