1976 Trans am Over 100 Pics
« on: April 07, 2011, 10:49:28 PM »
Hey Guys, I'm posting a link to my Facebook album that showcases my restoration on my 1976 Trans am. You don't need to be a FB user to view the album. Just click the link if you wanna see where we are so far.

A little history.
1976 Starlight Black 455 4 speed car. She's numbers matching and was a Reno, NV car her whole life. I bought her from a guy that had her listed on Ebay from an auction that didn't meet reserve. Once the car didn't sell I contacted him and we settled on a price that was even lower than his last high bidder. Perhaps some padding? LOL

My bestie Doug (GTO Nation owner) and I drove from Maryland to South Carolina to Reno, NV dragging my trailer to load her up and bring her home. It was 5480 miles round trip and we did it in 100 hours flat. I shoved East Bound and Down in the CD player as soon as the last strap was tight and we headed for the barn. I can honestly tell you I thought my V10 was gonna need an oxygen bottle climbing some of those mountains dragging that TA.
Anyway, I've been horsetrading, buying, hunting, collecting and rebuilding parts for her since. Other than 100% stock I added the power windows, PDL's, rear defog and trunk release, trunk lamp and under dash lamp upgrade. The original interior was firethorn/white and I decided I liked black/white better.

Well I hope you enjoy looking at my pics and as we start getting closer to finishing I should be posting more and more pics. Please feel free to send a friend request if you'd like and by all means let me know what you think.

What did you use on the rear axle?  That looks awesome. Have any detailed pics of that? If so, could you PM them to me? Thanks.

I have some bigger, higher res pics I could send you if needed. Not sure what was used but I'll ask.

As far as the resto goes... Usually I just farm out the paint and body work. This one is getting the full treatment.

Do you rebuild the radios as well? I would love to be able to add a port for my Ipod.

I use a guy in Arizona. He'll add the ipod jack for you. He can do everything from a simple cleaning to full blown restoration. I'll pm you his info if you like.

Here's the info...

Here's the reply when I asked about posting his info.

You can of course post the pictures and give my info and I appreciate the recommendation very much. Your members can call me at 480-235-1964 or email me at j65pony@aol.com Which website forum do you use? I would like to check it out. I post on www.performanceyears.com all the time and I am always looking for new Pontiac info. Thanks for trusting me with your items, I enjoyed working on them very much and making you acquaintance. I will double box and pack everything up for shipping today. I will send tracking info as soon as I ship. Thanks, Jim
