1980 Formula T/A Clone RestoMod.
« on: July 13, 2014, 03:55:37 AM »
This is what Ive been working on for the last few months.  Since the 80 Pace car i bought turned out to be super rusty i put it aside for a later project and picked up this 80 Formula 301 Auto car to restomod.  Ended up having to patch the pass toe and front floor pan, weld up a few small holes in the trunk and random spots other than that its fairly rust free, aside from the Drivers rear quarter. Hopefully i will be able to get it ready to paint this week.

Media Blasting

Stitch Welding for chassis strengthening, there's a lot you dont see i spent a lot of time in all the nooks and crannys, also fixing/filling holes that GM didnt quite get right overlapping panels etc.

Body Filler

Quarter Repair

Rolled Fender Lips in the back, along with smashed seatbelt humps for tire clearance.

Nice pickup! Looks great so far. Anyone that can do their own body work certainly has my respect. I look forward to more updates!
