who has best decals?
« on: December 02, 2011, 01:43:12 PM »
Finished painting my 76 TA and wondering who has the best quality decal kit?
I heard some companies layer the different colors with decal material, not like original.
I want something correct.
thanks

Thanks

If I remember correctly most suppliers gets the decals from the same place. Brett sells them at the link above and also Pete at fbodywarehouse.com as well.
I long for the peace that only driving a t/a can bring.

Got my kit for the Y88 through Brett.

When I needed a striping kit (due to a hit & run accident) the shop went to Pete (Fbodywarehouse).

No problems doing business with either of them again - highly recommended.

The main distributors are Stencil and Stripes and Phoenix Graphix. Both are good companies and each with their own little issues depending on who you talk to. So the decals you buy from Year One, Classic Industries, The Parts Place, National Parts Depot, here or F-bodywarehouse all come from one of those two places (at least they used to). So it comes down to who has the best price on them. Talk to some and they hate Stencils and Stripes decal kit. Talk to other and they hate Phoenix Graphix. I deal strictly with Phoenix and have for the last 8 years.

Do both mfg make them the same way? Is one layered with different layers of vinyl to get the colors? Are they screened on clear material?
Thanks

Hey Brett. Does the decal kit include Factory directions for placement of your Decals from 1979 to 1981 ? Or do you have to buy them separately.

Yes, I can email you the directions. The kit comes with installation instructions, but not placement of the decals.
