« on: May 29, 2007, 01:04:59 PM »
yesterday after driving i noticed that the key hole was hanging out on the drivers side.
today i put it back in and i got it to work but it wont stay in place, is there a clip that holds it in or is it glued on, didnt look like glue

Oh boy, those are not fun.  Yes, there's a clip that holds it in.  I ended up having a friend do mine, I just couldn't get it.  I'll let someone more experienced explain things for ya.

Actually, you can buy the door locks at any of the resto parts places like NPD, Ames Performance, etc.  They have the clip in them however, I don't think that you can just buy the clip unless somewhere here has one that they will send you.

Check the junkyards (it doesn't necessarily have to be an F-body part) for the quickest/easiest fix....basically just a large flat C-clip that holds the lock cylinder in place ;)

putting them in is usually alot easier than taking them out ! check at the bottom of the door to see if it just rattled off the lock onto the bottom of the door, but the guys are right...its basically a c clip that holds it into place....
youll want to install it like this.....

Yes, it is hard to get those screws to line up with the holes.  Takes a little guess work, but eventually you find the holes and get used to lining them up to go on there.
