Title: Which tach is this?

Bought a used tach off eBay, which says it fits a 77 TA.  It didn't, see pics.  Mine is the installed one the other one is the eBay one.  What happened here?

looks like the one you have installed already is a later model... the one you bought was made for the older models... like it was swapped out before maybe the whole cluster..... if you want to keep that new tach you bought, I am almost 99% positive I have a brand new circuit board for that style.... ill get some pics and if you are interested its cheap!
