Trans Am Nationals Drury Inn Security
« on: May 23, 2007, 09:09:22 PM »
A coordinated effort between Maryland Bandit-Tom, Hitman-Brett, Hammer-Michael, the TAC membership, and the Ohio Firebirds membership has taken place to help with the assignment of security for the Drury Inn.  The Manager, Jay Harts, of the Drury Inn was contacted regarding the issues of security for this year’s Trans Am Nationals.  We all understood that, due to liability issues, it would be unwise to use any of our members to act as security agents for our weekend which may cause some ill will if anything should happen.  Therefore, Jay Hart was made aware of our situation and asked to work with us to help in the area of Security.  Mr. Hart stated he has retained off duty Police Officers, that work for the city, as security for his property in the past at a rate of $25 per hour.  We asked if we could retain an Officer for our weekend and he explained that it is a large area and suggested we retain 2 Officers.  We explained that we are trying to keep costs as low as possible.  Mr. Hart then offered to split the cost of security with with us in a sign of good faith to keep our business for the future.  Mr. Hart explained that security helps to deter the possibilities of damage control, which we understand,  but stated that he and the Drury Inn must not be held liable if something did happen. This would include only Friday night from 11-7 am and Satuday night from 11-7 am. We explained we’d bring these conditions to our clubs and we appreciated his offer to help with half the cost for security.  If we ask for $20.00 per participant for the Trans Am Nationals between both our clubs this could be the solution to our security needs for the Drury Inn and the Trans Am Nationals. If we ask for $20.00 per participant for the Trans Am Nationals between both our clubs this could be the solution to our security needs for the Drury Inn and the Trans Am Nationals. All we ask is for $20.00 per participant for the Trans Am Nationals between both our clubs and their members who are planning to stay at the Drury Inn this could be the solution to our security needs for the Trans Am Nationals.  Donations can be made to Maryland Bandit at TAC, or myself here at 78ta.com.  Payments can be made via PayPal to me at "Brett@taspecialties.com".  Any questions, please feel free to email myself or Hammer.

Respectfully,

Maryland Bandit

As of 5/24, I have 9 that want to do this, including Brett and Hammer. 3 have paypaled funds. I expect as we get closer to Aug, more will jump on. Supposedly they had issues on the Bandit run with a car stolen from a hotel. They opted for security and had no more problems.
There is a sticky over on TAC in the Lobby under Drury Inn Security. I update it daily.
