Title: 1978 Formula project
Post by: pontiacting on July 15, 2017, 06:57:49 PM
Here's a pic of my latest acquisition. I don't know which way to take this one.  Depending on what I find in the body teardown, either keep it a Formula, do a SE clone, or strip it down to the bare essentials and make a fun race car out of it? Any opinions out there?

Hello...???

Anyone there...??

Anyone...?

Enough SE clones out there so I vote Formy RACE CAR.

Formulas are gaining in popularity but will never have the demand of the 77 - 78 SE.  If the plan was to really enjoy the car for a long time I would keep as a Formula and update the suspension...or make into a race car.

If you wanted to flip the car then I would do the SE Clone.  If this a Pontiac 400 powered Formula you have a good starting point.  Shaker air cleaners, shakers, shaker hoods, T/A fenders, etc., are still easy to find.

I like the story that you bring to talk very much. Because it made me find more information to talk to you.

Why not restore it as is, no need to go silly.
