thanks fellas. well here she is. as you can see, this little bird needed needed to be rescued. we cleaned it up a bit when i got it home.i ran the numbers and it was originaly brentwood brown but somewhere down the line it got the white and blue treatment.i could have swore it was smileing at me coming through atlanta when i brought it home. man i love this car. it had the shaker, cleaner, all the trim pieces in the back seat. also scored the complete front end rebuild kit, ball joints, bushings, tie rods etc still in the boxes.it's a start. thanks again

Welcome to 78ta, Corey. You're not the only one to sell a T/A and regret it. :'( Glad you're back in the Pontiac F-Body family. :)

wildman... your T/A may be down, but not out. It's great that you've rescued that Bird. Good luck bringing it back to life. Welcome to the site.

I'm from Manitoba Canada and a Web Design student at 35. I have welded most my adult years and have rebuilt many small block chevys. I love T/A's and have owned a 79 and a 78 Formula and am seeking another to rebuild without too much rust.

Also, if I am wrong or give out wrong info...sorry, just correct me, I can take constructive criticism very well. I am not a T/A expert, just a hobbiest and try to help when I can even if it means giving me your T/A in trade. LOL

Greetings fellow TA lovers.... I live in Arkansas.  Always wanted a 2nd gen. bird. Trying to find a good rebuilt  77,78 or 79 bird but it is difficult.  I'm a newbie, dont know all the in's and outs's and so glad I found this site !!!  There is "according to the papers" a black 1979 WS6/L78/W72 TA currently on Ebay for sale by Westcoast Firebirds that looks very promising, its not an SE but I think it has been cloned to look like one. I dont know how to post it here so hopefully some of you can go to it on Ebay and give me your experienced opinion's on it.  Any help is appreciated !!!  looking forward to one day becoming a Bandit gen. TA owner some day!!!  Thanks !!!!

It is a very nice T/A. It just depends on what you are looking for...an authentic SE or a nice T/A, regardless of level and authenticity.
I see no mention of SE on the build sheet, nor W72 (but I'm admittedly fuzzy on that topic). I did notice grey wheels on the window sticker yet the car is currently wearing gold snowflakes. Just my 2 cents.... :)

Thanks... if you look at the far right hand column of the build sheet it says W72.  No its not an SE.  The seller says all WS6 perf. package (listed on the invoice photo) @ $434.00 came with snowflake rims. I dont know that fact maybe someone does.  I dont "have" to have a real SE... just looking for a nicely done TA I can enjoy and maybe go to some shows, keep for some years and if ever need to sell for some reason... get my investment back.  I sure cant enjoy CD's and Mutual Funds like I can a TA !!!

gglefty, welcome to the site.  If I were you, I would stay away from Westcoast TA's.  Alot of people has seen their work close up and it ain't pretty.  Sure, it looks good in photos, but wait til you see it in person.  They are just money hungry people trying to capitalize on the growing popularity of the Trans Am and do things fast and cheaply and try to sell it for big bucks.  But that is just my opinion.......... Take it for what it is worth.  How much did you want to spend on one?

And to everyone else who has signed up, Welcome !  We are not picture hungry here..... as you can tell from the posts, only about 4 of us here are photo hungry. :-)
