The shifter shaft showed up today for Paul’s chrome so I reassembled the shifter tonight!

My new posi unit showed up today along with the bearing kit. Look like I will have to replace the ring & pinion as I found a small chip in the pinion gear. So I was good and ordered the same 3:08 as original from DTS. :(

You really are doing a full restoration haha. I probably would have put it back in, and replaced it when it finally gave out.

Doesn't everyone work with clean white cloth .... how come my projects invariably have me and the entire garage floor, walls, tools and light switches being the other color ...you know, BLACK!

Removed all the seals and axle bearings from the rear, and then washed it to remove all the grinding dust from cutting the posi unit out. Taped it to paint the center cast color and then the axle shafts steel color. After I reassemble it I’ll add all the original inspection marks.

Thanks!

Through another forum I located the correct fuel tank vent line hose clamps, the only difference is there no slot in the bolt. It was suggested to cut a slot with a dremel tool which worked great, 1st picture is one new clamp & one original clamp. 2nd picture show the new clamps installed, Note the red & green pinch clamps are correct for other two lines.

I also restored both rear brakes assembly’s. Now I just need to confirm if a 72 T/A had finned or un-finned rear drums as my car had one of each on it when I bought it?

great job pat.

I wish i could confirm that as my 71 has one finned drum and one missing so we both have the same question at hand.
