It's now official...I've got too many toys and not enough time.

All--

This past weekend I made it up to the airplane hangar I share with a few car club friends to check in on my cars.  For grins, I recorded all the mileage readings.  the last reading I took was February 3, 2007.  I did the math and here's how many miles I've driven each car in the past eighteen and a half months:

1939 Pontiac street rod:  Just purchased three weeks ago, doesn't count
1973 Trans Am:  193.0 miles
1974 Grand Am:  813.7 miles
1976 Trans Am:  4,271.8 miles (note:  2,802 miles were chalked up on Bandit Run 2008 and roughly another 600 miles can be written off for the Pontiac Southern Nationals in San Antonio)
1979 Trans Am:  .3 miles  (yes, .3 miles)
1995 Bonneville SSei:  3,469 miles  (I retired this car in 2005 but have used it as a back-up and loaner for friends and family)

It's actually embarrassing.  Yes, to those of you that remember some earlier threads I did have electrical issues which took some of the cars out of the rotation for a period of time.  Even so, it may be time to think seriously of thinning the herd.  It's either that, or I open a museum so they all get a proper amount of attention.

dont feel bad i am in the same boat as you so many cars and seems like i dont drive them enough but too hard to decide which one to part with so just easier to keep them and try to enjoy them and give them each some drive time in the summer.

I like Hammers idea. Keep them and then drive a different one everyday.

Done that this past summer. I rotate them all during good weather just to keep the seal lubricated in the engine and trans. Not to mention keeping the batteries charged. Even in the winter months if the roads are  not wet and laiden with salt brime.... but still the T/A and Vette have not accumulated 3000 miles annually, With that I change the oil annually in them unless the milage does go over.
At one point we had one car for every day of the week, thats when I told my wife it was time to get ride of one of them and we gave it to her son.

Well I will be happy to take the 79 off your hands.  Since you have ignored it completely you won't even miss it.  However this doesn't really solve your problem because even without that car you wouldn't have chalked up any additional miles.  ( I assume the .3 miles was just from moving out of the way so you could drive another car.)

So what's the verdict?

Rich--

It appears the vocal majority says to continue buying...I'm going to have to purchase a few lifts as I now must go vertical in the hangar to accomodate any more Pontiacs.

Gold78Spc--

I appreciate the offer to help, but it appears you have the same problem developing and I wouldn't want to contribute to the delinquency of a minor... ;D

The '79 is holding up pretty well, this was taken a few years ago.  I've since replaced the missing stripes on the air dam, fender flares, and rear spoiler.  It also now has a new interior.  The primary reason for the low mileage is that it needs new emergency brake cables to pass a state safety inspection.  I finally located the cables for rear disc brakes, just need to get off my duff and get them installed.
