The heads are 6x - 8,  I know they were 77 range.   I dont have the casting numbers at the moment,  I have a set of 6x -4s for going back in,  so will have these extra.

the trick will be getting it back together.  This is TA number 6 for me,  but by far the deepest I have ever went.
I owned a 77 4 speed car as a 16 year old,  the only car I wished I never sold. the other 4 were auto's and it  just wasnt the same for me.

The block u have is fine as long as you are not look for 550hp. If you are looking for 300-450hp this block will be fine go with 5140 rods and TRW pistons. Use the factory in take and qjet. Cliff Ruggles from Perforamnce Years forum or Tom MAryland Bandit From here and Trans AM Country can rebuild the qjet for any motor mod u do.

A few updates since my last post.  A 1500 mile trip to get a block (PWH thanks mont1le) and a floor pan has been completed.  I finished putting passenger rear seat pan last night.  :)  I have 2 more issues to deal with then the floor will be done. I am posting before and after pics,  I think it came out pretty good.  :)

Nice to meet you too.  The drive back wasnt bad,  I was ahead of a snow storm by a few hours :)

Block is at the machine shop,  due to get it back any day now.  
Am trying to get this part finished,  before switching to engine building.  
I have a 2" x 4" area to replace on the passenger toe area and then the very bottom of behind the seat on the drivers side.
This side was the worst of the worst and am glad to have it completed.

I am hoping I can have those 2 welded up over the weekend.

Slowly but surely this has been coming together.  Got the block back, .030 over pisons and have assembled it this far.  
I am held for a dip stick tube,  lifters,  and new push rods (they sent me the wrong ones).  I hope to get the bulk of it assembled over the weekend.  

I am considering powdercoating the pulleys,  altenator bracket,  a/c bracket.  Any  tips,  thoughts,  concerns would be appriciated.  I bought the eastwood powder coat gun but havent used it yet.  

Since it will be a while until this is started,  I was thinking of flooding it with oil,  then draining it before starting.  Any other ideas to keep this from rusting while I slowly assemble the rest of the car?
