Title: 78 Black Trans Am w/ Hurst T-tops
Post by: zman on September 23, 2010, 02:32:28 PM
I listed this before but was having trouble uploading pics so here goes again.  This is an original Black/Black Trans Am with a non-original 400 motor (YA code).  Has Hurst T-tops.  I don't have PHS documentation on it yet, but I suppose I could get it if necesssary.  Cowl tag show 19L and 19 U.  I had the car painted about 2 years ago but it was botched by the  paint shop and now has bubbles in the paint on the front fenders.  Rust was repaired in the rear quarters at that time.  Floorpans do need attention. (The carpet is currently out of car.)
Also small amount of rust under rear window. I took the Hood bird off because it was a cheap knock off supplied by the body shop.  Rest of the decals are from Phoenix Graphix.   Basicly the car is a good project, just needs some TLC.  Questions or comments welcome!  You won't hurt my feelings.  I'm selling because I have another '78 I'm building and one is enough.  Asking $6000 Located in Houston suburb.

Also, If you buy the car, I will give you first opportunity to purchase a NOS Hurst Hatch recall kit which included new seals, molding, and hardware for the 2nd design T-tops which my car has.  These are extremely rare!!!

Well, since I haven't had any takers, I will keep her for now and fix her up.  First order of business will be to repair rust in floor pans, and then work on chassis and drive train.  Engine is ready to go with exception of a few more items to bolt on.
