Rear shock compressor? Are you talking about for an air ride system?

Is it what they this ''option'' is called?

I never had a car with that installed. Always had cars with normal shock.

How does it work?

Its an airbag that's installed in place of spings/shocks which firms up your ride for cornering or drops it down on the frame rails based on what you punch onto a keypad. Normally its installed on all 4 corners of the car to avoid a mismatched suspension.

Are you sure you're not referring to air shocks which would be adjusted by either adding or removing air through a valve stem located somewhere in the trunk/rear tail pan via an external compressor??? (You'd still be using your stock leaf springs in the back.)

Pictures would definitely help.

Yes i'm talking about that particular system. Isn't that a T/A option?
Picture will come of the compressor I have.

Not that I'm aware of. Judging by the weathertight connectors (green and orange wires) I'd wager this was taken out of some sort of 90's/2000 minivan with an automatic load leveling suspension and retrofitted to your TA. My mom's old van and my dad's current van - both Montana's - had this system.

Air shocks by themselves I believe were an option but not with a compressor.

I agree that air shocks don't have their own compressor but this thread has me thinking back to this prior thread (read the last few posts on it):

its a option if your going to go through all the trouble--
start robbing cadillacs for the suspension parts-

the adjustable air shocks on camero's and firebirds ect.... are filled with air at a proportioning valve in the rear (like a tire valve stem) put in more or let some air out-
they ride like crap when there over filled-lol
