1981 Trans Am Turbo Engine Control Module
« on: October 18, 2014, 09:10:24 PM »
I recently got a 1981 trans am as a buy out for my 68 roadrunner. It's in great shape other than needing paint and getting it on the road after 15 years of sitting outside. It is almost ready to go, but my ECM is out and I can't find it. I've heard that it is either behind the glove box or the passenger kick panel. I pulled the glove box, and it isn't there, and I almost had the kick panel out, but it was stuck on something and I didn't want to risk breaking anything, so I left it be. I did get a glance behind it, but I didn't think I saw it. So before I try at it again, I thought I might have a go at posting something on a forum and see if anyone here could help me out.
Much appreciated,
     Garrett

The ECM is located behind the front of the console (where it meets the dash).

Thanks, got that changed out. Now, let's see if the supplier can send me the right fuel sending unit, going on the third try.

Do you have a source for a ESC - electronic spark control unit for a 1980 Turbo Trans Am

Go to www.301garage.com if you have a 301/301 turbo. Not many know the site exists because the site owner put a robots.txt on the server to block google from indexing the site so you can't find the site using google.

1981 ECM & ESC are available reman, 1980 ESC is a little tougher to find but do come up from time to time.
