Air shocks made a BIG difference!
« on: February 20, 2010, 03:05:03 PM »
Well, Frank just finished installing the air shocks.  And WOW what a difference!  It even eliminated some of the rattling noise that was in the rear with the exhaust tips.

We took it for a ride with Tony in the back and some tools, and not once did it hit.  Took the bumps in the road just great!

Now, if I can only find a compact/donut/space saver spare tire.

Bought one off of Ebay, and it will not work.  Too small.  Correct bolt pattern but too low.

So with that said, if you know of where, or if anyone has one, please contact me.   Yes, I did my research on this, and Ebay was the only place I found it.

Next project for today.....transmission clip.........to be continued! lol

Clip has been installed and Frank said that the shop had it on the wrong side and the cable was all kinked and came off easliy.

Now he is doing the sway bar bushings in the front.

Oil chang has been done using 30 weight oil to slow down the leak of the rear main seal.  I am so impressed with Frank's accomplishments today!!  WOOHOO!!

id look for a 01 s10 spare, or any year equivilant, those seem to sit about the same size as a factory wheel, but with compact spares, they usually are an odd size than the rest of the wheels, for the compactness........

I just watched the vidio and my thought was  "What Exhaust system" lol

As far as the spare goes, I have a space saver spare in my 70 but would only use it in an emergency.  In my emegency tool kit I carry a tire plug kit and a small cig lighter air pump.  If I get a flat I'm plugging it on the car.

All I know is that that T/A is louder than my Firebird with 27 year old glasspacks on it.  ;D
