Topic: 1973 "Fire-AM" ?

Can anyone tell me if there was a Fire-Am made in 73'? I came across an orange 1973 Firebird, has all the unique "Fire-Am" decals, intieor is white, car is automatic, It has the steel 5 spoke Pontiac ralley rims with trim rings, Car has the flat hood, no shaker. I didnt know what I was looking at at the time, so I had to research when I got home. Is this a package bought from Herb Adams out of Florida in the late 70's early 80's and just put on this 73' or is it a rare car. sorry no pics

The vast majority of Fire Ams were owner built by buying the necessary parts from Herb Adams' VSE company, therefore anyone could buy the stuff and install it in any year Bird they wanted... so yes, it is very possible to have a 73 Fire Am!

Hello all, just joined over here.  Yes it is possible to have a Fire Am or Cheverra (Camaro version) any year second or third generation.  I have three of Herb's catalogs that span both generations.  Herb actually built an early 70's Fire am as a magazine car.  It was featured in an article called Cutting Corners: http://thepontiactransampage.com/gallery/album05.  As mentioned, for the most part Fire ams were mail order, it wasn't until '80 that you could order one from the factory.  It was sent to Cars and Concepts for conversion.  It was cancelled for '81 IIRC.
