Hello Everyone,
The show is June 22-24, 2007 at Cabela's in Dundee Michigan. The Holiday Inn Express is the Host Hotel for the Great Lakes Regional Firebird Gathering! When calling for reservations say your coming for the Firebird Show. We have blocked 20 rooms in the Main lodge at $119 per night. The water park will be open but is not part of your hotel stay. More info to follow.
Friday night event: We are looking into a 3 hr boat cruise (which would include pizza, salad, and soft drinks). The limit would be 56 people and include transportation from Cabela's to the boat and back. Looks like the cost would be about $25/person. More info to follow.

From what I've been reading on the rules, Michigan looks to be a much more detail judged show then Dayton.

Its a very nice show. My third year. If you get tired of walking around the cars, you can always go into the air conditioned Cabela's & shop to you drop. Car show attendees get a discount off the inside resturant also. Have you been there before? I will be at the Holiday Inn Friday thru Sunday AM. Did you sign up for the 3 hour dinner & boat cruise Friday night? We did. Good crowd & good people.

This year will be a first for Michigan for me. Heard nothing but great things about the show and Saturday night cruise in. I'm bringing my 14 yr old son for the Waterpark. Maybe a few others too. It's a 8 hour drive for us. Be in Thursday afternoon at Holiday Inn Express. Didn't do the boat cruise. Last 3 hour tour wound up being Gilligans Island ;D

Right now I have reservations at the Amerihost Inn. Joe, where is that in relation to the show, if you know? The description sounded like it was really close. I have been thinking about dropping the extra green for Holiday Inn instead if they still have room.

That hotel is close, just the other side of the main road. The Holiday Inn is across the parking lot from the show. Last year I asked them to reserve some room for our cars & they blocked off a section just for the Firebirds. This year they have a new water park they added to the hotel, so that could be good & bad. Are you going on the dinner cruise? After hours a bunch of us gathered by the trailors last year for a few pops. I live just 45 minutes from there but I stay on site rather than collecting bugs everyday back & forth. Looking forward to seeing the Formula there!!!!

Got my spots for the cruise reserved. We are taking both Birds up there to see how they do. I knew about the water park but didn't think about the bad side of it. I might just keep the reservations as is for this year and check it out. Looking forward to the weekend!!!

GOOD POINT, THE NICE THING HAMMER MENTIONED IS YOU CLEAN UP YOUR CAR & TAKE IT TO THE JUDGES WHEN YOU ARE READY, FIRST HOUR, 6 HOURS LATER, OR EVEN THE NEXT DAY, BUT IT IS GOOD TO GET HER JUDGED EARLY SO YOU DONT HAVE WEATHER ISSUES & THE PRESSURE IS OFF FOR YOU TO ENJOY THE REST OF THE SHOW. THE SHOW STAFF TREATS YOU LIKE FAMILY.
IN FACT THE MAJORITY OF FIREBIRD ENTHUSISTS APPEAR TO TREAT YOU LIKE FAMILY WHEN YOU COME TO THINK OF IT. THE OHIO FIREBIRDS & FRIENDS ARE A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF THAT.

INSTEAD OF A WINNERS CIRCLE THEY HAVE WHAT THEY CALL A BIRDS NEST PARKING AREA. THATS WHERE YOU WILL BE NEXT YEAR WITH THAT NICE WHITE 78 FORMULA :o

One more Bonus to this show is that there is a Survivor Class, a Stock Class & Restoration Class for the 77-78 Firebirds which is the only show I know of that splits this up & gives guys like me a half of chance.

Original interior, repainted and restriped only. Everything stock. Only change is no radio in normal spot, its in where the 8-track would have been.
I know they will pick the class there, I'm betting light modified though.

Are you doing the Boat Cruise friday evening? You can bring your own toties & round trip shuttle back to the lot!!

I would like to, but I don't know how many people are coming with me besides my son. If they still have spots open by then, yea, I'll do it once I have a head count. If not, oh well the rest of the time should be fun. Looking forward to the water park deal and the fact everythings within walking distance. Any idea on a car wash location? After 8 hours on the road, its going to need one.

Around 80 the first year & 100 plus there first 2 year. I should grow each year. The other nice thing is that you can pay for the registration using PayPal.
Hint Hint Brett- Might be a good idea for the Nats if you have any pull. ???

Hello folks,
For those of you who may still be thinking about attending the boat
cruise and have not registered (or are thinking about participating
but purchasing tickets the weekend of the show), we need to know ASAP
how many of you are out there!
We need at least 40 people or we'll have to cancel!
Here are the details:
3 hour boat cruise up the Maumee River and along the Toledo Skyline.
We will be picked up by Blue lake Charters at 6 pm in Lot "B" at
Cabela's and taken to downtown Toledo to board the boat. The boat
will leave at 7pm and return to the dock at 10pm. The bus will return
us to Cabela's. We have also booked with Marco's Pizza for dinner on
the boat. Pop/soda will be provided and BYOB (cooler) if you wish.
The cost is $25/person
Please email us your interest in this event NOT LATER than Friday,
May 23! We'll tally responses.
If you've already preregistered for this activity, our heartfelt
thanks. If you're thinking about it, now's the time to speak up! It

Ok, We might try and make this show this year, I will trailer my car up there for 1 day and the cruz, and then come back home that night, so I think that would be sat. I can do that in 3 hours drive up. ;D They have lots of parking in back right.

I am just enjoying all of the shows this year. No Booths for me. For the last six years I have been working the booths and not enjhoying the show. So this year, it will be all cruising for me.... no work.

PARTY TIME! Well Hitman, we finally get to hang out at the Nationals, although we did have a pretty good party going on in Tipp City. I am sure we will take over that last bar on the right again this year. That's was very cool.

Ok, I will try and make this show, not sure right now, this last road trip this past week put a hurt'n on my trailer, I had a tire blow out and take off the fender well, and I'm just plain wore out, between the work'n and the power tour, and this road trip and then back to work, this past week has just wore me out, I left for Iowa tuesday night drove all night, did my drop, took a 3 hour nap and drove all the way back, got back in about 2am got up, went to work and put in another 400 miles thursday, and 375 today, I have been running on energy drinks for the past week, could be why my chest is hurting tonight, ::) so I'm going to just chill for a few days.
So is "eroc022" the guy with the silver 99 -02 trans am, if not who was that, can't recall his name, and who was the guy with the other black trans am, that was parked next to hammer.

I just registered for the show and boat cruise today. My husband Jeff and youngest two boys are coming with me... but just grown ups for the boat cruise :) Looking forward to seeing you guys there!
Oh... we're having trouble getting a room... are the block rooms all gone?

I regestered at the Holiday Inn back in January. To get that weekend I had to take thursday night too. Got all 4 nights for 85.00 a night.

If you can't get the Holiday Inn, try the Amerihost Inn. Thats where my wife and I are staying. $70 a night and Joe said its real close.

I'm bringing my 14 yr old son with me. Made sure to pack the Nintendo DS and the laptop so he can online game at the hotel. Last thing I need is, "When is it over Dad?" I can get lost talking cars and hanging out with the people real easy, so I gotta think of him too. If its just the two of us coming, we're going to do the boat cruise Friday night. Since we're getting in Thursday afternoon, probably going to do the indoor water park Friday. Maybe park the car Saturday out in the show field and go hit the pool for a while.Saturday night we're going to do the Mayfly festival and check out the country bands and the FOOD. Sunday is the big show just like Dayton. See you guys there next week.

Yayyyy... I called Holiday Inn directly and got the LAST room! Yayyy for me! hahahahaha... The online reservations said it was full... i'm excited... the kids are gonna love the water park and stuff :D
