12bolt rear end

what 2nd gens had 12 bolt rear ends?? also, how powerful are 10bolts? strong enough to hold 450rear wheel torque?

None of the second gens had a 12-bolt rear.  Yes, the 10 bolt can handle a 450ft.lb. torque rear end.  Lowmilta has about 560+ at his rear wheel.

  I think the only second gen f body to have a 12 bolt was a 1970 Z/28 or SS. I'm not 100% sure.

I have a Dana 60..but it's not stock :)

Im going to agree with 79 SE W72, the only F-body that I can recall that might have had a 12 bolt is the old 70-71 SS Camaro's not sure about that though.

Did a little scouting (even though it's ebay) A couple 70-71 Camaro's with documentation showed up with a 12 Bolt, they were SS's and generally 396/454 however one was a 350 high optioned Z28

I don't know how reliable this source is, but according to Gary Lisk's site, http://www.iwaynet.net/~gl&lisk/transam.html, the 12 bolt was an option during 1970 on the Trans Am.
