$1,815 HPP Mag!!!
« on: August 08, 2011, 11:18:13 PM »
So my wife & I are at the local grocery store, and I see the October 2011 issue of HPP on the stand.  I haven't yet subscribed, so I grabbed a copy.  She gave me a little flack, but I went for it anyway.  She thought I put it back.  When we're checking out, the checker slides it across the scanner, and she poked at me for getting it.  The total grocery bill came to just over $2000!  I joked, "Wow!  That's an expensive magazine!"  The checker started scanning the bill, and found it WAS the magazine....$1815.90!!!  We all burst out laughing!  Needless to say, they straightened it out.

mMm!  Tasty brownies.  Pass the chips!

It's funny.  There was something to do with the magazine department (HPP was the only thing on our bill from there), because the actual mag is on the receipt as well.  They walked us over to customer service, re-scanned the mag, made some correction in the computer, and credited the bill $1815.90.  Even the manager who corrected the mess thought it was hilarious.  Guess that'll teach me!  Time to subscribe!!!

I get the same look.lol. I always get told three magazines are a whole year subscription.  Your receipt looks like mine when I was single. So was it free after all that?

I know!  That receipt is embarrassing!!!  The trip was really about getting a few necessities, the kids some snacks, etc.......not really grocery shopping.  That comes this weekend.
