Title: Franks pontiac parts?
Post by: bkmax5190 on October 13, 2011, 12:37:30 AM
Anyone purchased from Franks Pontiac parts?
I am going to purchase some doors for my car but a little leary about doing it without seeing them and he wants 3
$300 a door.  Is this a good price for a rust free door?

From all I've read, he's pretty reputable and has good stuff...his prices run a bit high in my opinion though ;)

Yeah he is a little pricey on stuff but if you can't find it anywhere else what are you gonna do. Especially out here in cali there aren't to many of these cars just lying around for parts. I have a passenger side door that's rust free with a small dent in it and can't get rid of it for 100.00 bucks.

I tried to buy some NOS emblems from him about 5 years ago. Real jerk on the phone. Hung up on me twice. Screamed in my ear... "I get 'em at Wal-mart" and hung up. I wasn't dumb enough to call a third time. LOL

Who knows....he may be the pillar of the community???

3 C notes does seem high tho!

I have bought a couple of things from him and was happy with the parts.
Pricey - yes
Tempermental - yes
Has good parts - yes

P.S. If you ask him more then once if the part is driver quality or not then expect to be hung up on or he will refuse to sell it to you...... :(

I bought my frame rails from him and a carb. Other than paying shipping from Cali, he's good to deal with.

sorry for the delay, will get a pic shortly.  door is still on the car so the pic wont be the best.  but dont worry i describe my parts honestly & know good from junk.  from what i have seen the door is rust free & very solid along the bottom,  just a few small dings & scratches.

He has rust free parts and a great website with photo's of the exact part you are buying. Living in the rust belt, it's nice to have a rust free supplier. I've spoke on the phone and had great service with him. I plan to buy more. He's a fairly hones guy. If you ask him, you'll get the answer and there'll be no surprises when it arrives. There's more people out there not acurately describing what they have and ruins it for us all.  Pricey? Maybe... You get what you pay for... Mike
