Title: 78 Pontiac Firebird Trans am Hurst Edition

Here it is. A 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Hurst Car. 403ci, Stainless Hurst Hatch T-Tops, Rear window Louvers and a 3:73 Limited slip(posi) rear end.

First off, nice looking T/A. The only reason that sticker is there is because of the hatch roof. GM sent them to Hurst to have the hatches installed and that sticker would have been on every car that had T-tops from 77'-78' made by Hurst. I have seen what some call Hurst editions that are 400, 4-speed cars, that have a Hurst shifter, but yours is an auto. I like that color on your car, kinda looks like Firethorne Red.

i just got a base 77 camaro with that same sticker in the door jamb that has hurst t tops, only 77 camaro i have ever seen with t tops.

as said above, no such thing as hurst edition, sticker was for T-tops  (all 4sp had hurst shifter)

Back in 1978 there was such a huge demand for T-tops GM couldn't keep up with their version, the Fisher tops so they outsourced some to Hurst.  If you ordered a new 78 Trans AM you had no idea what tops you were going to get.  The only exception was the Y88 cars because they had specific gold tinted Fisher tops made only for them.  You never see a Y88 with Hurst tops but you will see the odd Y84 and base T/A with them.

your half right, the hurst tops leaked so fisher took over half way thru the yr.
