Topic: 1979 Trans Am - 1 of 1530 - For Sale in Iowa

Hey Guys,

I came across this Trans Am while checking out my regular car websites:

I have never seen a 1979 with a 301, or the number "301" on the hood scoop, but it appears to be in good shape by the couple of pictures they have posted.  I have seen a few cars from Duffy's over the years and they are typically very impressive.

Just thought I would pass this one on!

I have seen some 79's with the 301 and it must be at the end of the 79 production and beginning of the 80 models. I have never seen T/A 301 though, only 4.9 Looks like a nice car but a little high on price in my opinion for a small v-8

I don't believe "TA 301" was put on the shaker back in the day.  Easy to remove and label correctly if someone wants it though ...

It shouldnt be there period. 79 301 cars did not get shaker decals.

You sure?  I thought they got the T/A 4.9 stickers?  Either way it's a clean looking firebird but don't think I'd want to spend $15k on a 4sp 301 car.

t/a 4.9 shaker decals weren't used until 1980.

duffy's is located here in my town,  they have many old musclecars & other classics.  typically they are a little high on the prices but they do have some nice cars.  lately they have been getting quite a few t/a's.    if anyone is interested i can go look at the car & get more pics or details.
