stock front coil spring length
« on: April 08, 2007, 11:29:48 PM »
I need to know the length of a stock front coil spring uncompressed in a 76-81 firebird or earlier if you know they use the same springs. Im replacing or reusing the ones already in my 80 TA depending if there stock or not.

what are the differences in the moog part#'s. when i ordered mine, every auto parts store & summit/jegs gave only one part#....5006...for all firebird/camaros. regardless of motor or a/c. i even called ames & asked what spring i needed for my car, i asked the part# & he reluctantly gave me the moog 5006. i then asked for a firebird with a v6 & no ws6 etc....gave me the same part#!!!!

what is the specs of a 5006 vs 574? i installed the 5006 & it sits WAY too high in the front. i am about to cut the springs to drop it, but i think 5006 is the wrong spring for my car.

what is the correct spring for a 1978 t/a ws6 no a/c?????
78 w72 ws6 4 speed
81 turbo pace car
lots of other past t/a's

Go to the Moroso web site and check out thier springs. I recently put in a set on my 76 and they had a few diffrent ones for my car depending on engine size.

I checked out morosos site but they said there springs are only for drag racing not for street and this is a car goin on the street. Thanks for the input but does anybody have any specs on stock springs or any other info on what they have used.

I guess I am smokin crack because I do not have the moroso springs, I actually have the mog # 5402. I have so much of the car apart that I am starting to forget what I need to put back together and this all started as a simple oil pan change. I think I got ocd.
