Rim Backspacing Help Please

What is the correct backspacing for a 8 in rim on a 79 firebird ? The welds set right in line with the body as you can see in the pic. They need to be under the car more.

The backspacing I beleive is 4 1/2" on an 8" rim.  AT least that what the 8" snowflake is.
