well im still on the hunt. Im looking for another bird. the 72 owner just raised his price 1200 so now its out of my league. im looking for a nice car for a budget of 2500-3500 i dont have a trailer so it would need to drive or would need to be delivered to me. any leads? the more complete the better for me.

im finding quite a bit but there is a fine line in between what i had and what i dont want it seems like 2500 or less = junk or dreams. and 5000 or more gets an ok driver cant there be a happy medium? there are a ton of 79-81's out there there is a blue 79 ta 4spd car near me 4500 very nice. and there is also a 61000 mile 74 ta for 4850 looks like a really nice car but they dont answer the phone and have not returned any phone calls. the 79-81's seem to be a dime a dozen. there is a 73 455 brewster green ta but it's 6000 and i only have 4000 so close yet so far away. that 72 i went and looked at today for giggles and yeah right. its been off the road in an old barn since 82 and what a mess. solid yet a mess and it turns out to have a 77 350 in it and is only an esprit with a formula hood on it.

79 numbers match 403 auto for $1000 in illinois.Great body and drivetrain but interior needs redone. NO rust in floors or frame but will need paint. If I had some place to put it I would get it.The engine and trany are worth what the guy is asking.

I'm looking at selling my 79, I don't really have the money to take car of it(going to need engine work in a few thousand miles and for a daily driver when I live in the city it eats too much gas)

Its the 403 with auto, hard top.  It's had some body work done, and rust in floor pans repaired(cut rust out welded in new) It still needs front fenders as I think they're too far gone to save.  Doors could use some TLC and I also have extras.  95% of the interior is there but could use some finishing touches(dash is almost perfect just a little faded and dirty).

The drive line is all intact and as soon as I get the mixture correct on the carb it'll be moving just fine, although not road ready, needs windshield and a full going over for state inspection.

If you're interested let me know and I'll get some pics for you.  I'd like to get $2500 for it, but its pretty negotiable.
