Electrical / 80 wiring issues
« Last post by 80firebird80 on July 24, 2017, 09:36:03 PM »
I'm having some wiring issues. Back story.
I did the idiot light to rally gauges conversion. 1980 Espirit. To 78 2nd design gauges. I have everything working beside oil gauge. My car came with a 2 wire oil dummy light sender and then another blue wire off that. Cant get oil gauge to work. That's problem one.

Second problem and the one I'm more worried about is my brake lights only light up on the passenger side, left turn signal stays solid on dash and both front and rear. Right lights up front and back but not on dash, hazards work but no right light on dash.
I thought I had the issue fixed and all lights were working properly( found a bad wire on front right turn signal)
I put in a new headlight switch( old one wouldn't dim) new circuit board for gauges( prongs were all messed up) and a brake light switch ( broken plastic housing) and now the problem returned. I don't know where to start on this, any help is appreciated! Thanks

Thanks heaps!!
Parts Wanted / Looking for a 400 Pontiac Y6/YG engine
« Last post by Maxthe222 on July 23, 2017, 08:31:57 PM »
Hey guys,

I'm looking for the original engine out of a 1977 Special Edition TRANS AM, it was an automatic W72 and the engine probably got taken out a while back. The car was originally from Canada and it had an engine block heater factory installed on it. Partial VIN should be 251053.

Still haven't contacted original owners but all I have is name, address, state, city and rego papers for last previous owner, however since the car is originally from Canada I can get the UVIP if I find someone who is a Canadian Citizen.

Any help is super appreciated!!

Dryer sheets. It works awesome. Put a couple sheets into a hand spray bottle of water. Let it soak for a while to get the chemicals into the water. Spray it on and let it sit a minute. Then use another sheet as your bug sponge.

DriveTrain / 77 Trans Am 400 oil Dip stick question
« Last post by STOTZBOTZ on July 22, 2017, 09:51:26 PM »
Hello friends. I recently purchased a 77 Trans Am. It has the Pontiac 400 engine and this is a non air conditioned car. The dip stick is damaged and broken. I was wondering if anyone knew the proper length of the dip stick for a 400 engine without air. I was told the length was different than an air conditioned car. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Just a note about some of the events I am going to soon.
The Supercar Reunion is a gathering of Chevy dealer supercars that attend for a 1 day drag race/ 1 day show. The dealer names of Yenko, Berger, Nickey, Fred Gibb, Dana..... special prepped cars by Dick Harrell all are in attendance. Some other stuff will be showing up as well.
The Ames All Pontiac Tri Power Nationals at Summit Raceway Park in Norwalk, OH. It is my understanding that it is the largest all Pontiac event in the country. Over 400 race cars and an incredible number of show cars.
The Mopar Nats... It is still one of the biggest events in the country for the Pentastar! Drag racing and show cars... once again, does it get any better.
If you are wanting me to bring Goodyear reproductions to the events to save money in shipping, I need to personally hear from you. Because it may have been mentioned in passing does not mean that I have it in the trailer. That being said, my cell is 816-654-3400.
Thanks and have a great weekend!!!
