15" Honeycomb Wheels For Sale
« on: December 22, 2009, 12:02:25 AM »
I have 4 wheels for sale. I would like $400 plus shipping for the set. I will remove tire from the one wheel before shipping. Wheels come with one center cap & two trim rings. Here are the pics. Ask any questions you want. I've had these wheels since 1982.
This is wheel #1

This is wheel #2

This is wheel #3

This is wheel #4

I am super interested in them, give me 24 hours to make up my mind please. I just need to find out if they are worth that (thinking they are) but I need to make sure you know?  as im not familiar with the value of them at all.

Take your time Rick, there is no hurry at all on my part. And to be honest with you back in the mid 80s I drove off and left one of my wheels lying and looked for another to replace it back then and I paid $100 for it. Thats why I'm thinking thats whats their worth to me. Not real sure what the going price is either. There was a set on Ebay last week that didn't meet reserve and bidding was up to around $300.
Just let me know when you decide.
Thanks man!

can anyone on here help shed some light on this as I dont think I want to screw anyone over but I also dont want to be screwed.

can someone give us an open honest answer as to what this particular set of wheels is worth in their opinion?

I paid $600 for 4 finished/painted honeycombs with new center caps last summer.  Most important, be sure they're true (not bent) and center holes are not egged.

Center of wheels under center cap are not perfect but I would say in very good condition. All lugnut holes are fine. These were on my car when I bought it back in July of 1982. I drove it probably a year or so before a bought a set of Cragar SST's. I would stand behind these being straight with no bends or bent rims. In other words I never had a problem with them while they were on my car and have been stored inside ever since a took them off the car back in 1983. I'll tell you what I can do is bring them into work with me (I work at a Ford Dealer....but hey don't hold that against me) and have them spun up on the tire balancer just to double check before any monies are exchanged.

Then you got an awesome deal, I sold a set of them last fall, got $400, needing to be refinished (a little worse than these), but mine had all the rings and centers.

talked to my uncle he said average price for them missing centers and rings like this is 30-50 a rim and 100 if mint and complete? he did take a look at these pictures and said he has seen several of them like these for around 30 each at the nats? (apparently he's been there before several times without me) so how does 250 plus shipping sound to you considering there is no centers and will need trim rings? i wont need that tire either lol. let me know what you think he also said its hard to make this determination off a picture since he cannot tell exactly how good the rubber is. he also noted that one looks like the rubber is separating from the center and i'd probably want to find another eventually
