Taken in 1985 in Davison, MI at the park.  A 1975 Trans Am, silver on black.  I don't have a picture of my blue on black Formula w/455.  I've been trying to hit up some friends back then to see if they have a photo.  We'll see.

Thanks for posting guys!

Brock -- in retrospect, would you have tried harder to keep any particular one of them knowing what you know now? :-\

Rich -- you car appears to be a dead ringer of a friend of mine except his was a 4 speed.  I have the build sheet for that one -- interested in seeing it? ???

Jeff -- I suprised!  MOST of the GM ones appear to be relatively in one piece! :o ;D

Ta2dbandit... Nice looking Birds... even the Camaro looks good.

Jeff... you've owned some of my favorite cars... after Firebirds of course. Looks like a 70 Mustang, 68 Charger and a 70 Cougar... I'd love to have one of each. :)

Rich... I've really become a fan of silver on a T/A.

Rick, that car was a 4-speed, 400.  It was a great vechicle but being a Michigan car it rusted out on me and I got rid of it.

AC?  Factory AM/FM stereo?  If so, then it was pretty much a daad ringer for my buddy's car (<--- emphasis for Jeff).  Wanna see his build sheet, or do you have yours? :-\

All of them for one reason or another!

The 92 camaro was a mint 25th anniversary
the 89 GTA was completely stock and a grat car
the 83 TA was quite possibly the fastest car i have ever had
the mix 77/78/79 was a car i created from several that i had. It was a cool creation. Also had the engine from the first car i ever owned!

That's because it was retrieved from his car the weekend we took it apart -- which was about a month after he got it!  He had the car for about 3 years and then blew the engine (spun rod bearing), so he picked up a 455 SD from a wrecked TA in Ohio.  The car ran great (pretty much like a factory SD, hahaha!) but he left it parked outside at his apartment complex.  Predictably it was stolen in 1979.  Surprisingly, the car was recovered.  Inexplicably, it had been stripped of everything BUT the engine and transmission.  Another friend of ours bought the engine from the insurance company (they thought it was a 400), then dropped that into his new 79 TA that had a 400/4 speed.  That's when we all quit the company where we worked and I lost track of them all. :P :-\

Man that one is a long, long story! Haha! Tell you what... I'll abbreviate!

Started out as a 79 firebird that got hit 6 different times. Took an espirit and transplanted ta front clip, motor and tranny, disk rear end from a 79se and full power package from another. Add it all together and it turned out great! Except for the paint was a last thing that never completed before i had to move 375 miles north with no place to store it. So i sold it and more parts than i care to admit at this time for a measly $500. A treasure that can never be replaced! Now i'm gonna go cry for a while. Thanks for bringing back all those deep emotions! Hahaha!

I feel your pain about the Charger. I love the 66-70 years. I looked at a 68 for sale this summer... a total resto... absolutely beautiful, but the guy wanted $35k. I figured I could buy the car I'm really looking for, a 98-02 WS6 T/A and save myself a good 10-15k at least.

This true gold Y88 made its rounds through our town, owned by nearly every gear head around, including yours truely.  I actually bought it as a parts car, and saved it from the crusher.  I later sold it to guy on ebay who said he was going to restore again.
Hopefully he holds true to his word.
I even found the build sheet under the back seat.

Here are just a few of my 'past treasures'...  the two I miss the most are not pictured; a Yellow 76 Formula just like pictured above but not as shiney  ::) and a black/gold 82 X-fire Z28.

82 TA - 4 spd
(http://home.centurytel.net/mrnfoley/Cars/82TransAm.jpg)

84 GT, I know it's a Ford but this was really a nice fun car...

76 Type LT, this was actually one of my senior pictures
(http://home.centurytel.net/mrnfoley/Cars/Camaro76.jpg)

73 240Z, my wife traded my 76 Formula for this car behind my back, this is when I learned to always transfer title after purchasing a car  >:(

Yep, that car was nice and it took a beating from me and then asked for more.  When I got rid of it you could crawl through the hole in the floorboard and if I went fast enought eh rear quarters would flap really fast and lift the rear end!

I wish that I would have taken pictures of my cars....

My first car was a 68 Buick GS,  It was kind of a girls car  yellow with a blk top.  It moved well paid $900.00 for it in 1973.   Traded it for a 69 Nova SS with a 350. This is the car that I painted 3 or 4 times.  Sold it for $800.00 in 75 or 76.  Some time around there I got my hands on a 69 Z/28 for $1500. It was Dusk Blu with White stripes with a Blu int.  Ran great  but RUST RUST RUST. I drove it for a few years, sold it, bought it back and then parted it. WHAT A FOOL I AM. Got a 68 GTO in 78, ended up selling it to a buddy who still has it.  Sometime in 75 or 76 I bought my T/A. Still got it. I sure wish that I had PICTURES....

Geez  I forgot about my 75 Formula, Silver 400 auto with red int.  I wish I still had ALL of them

After seeing all the cool past treasure pics, I thought I would show mine.
76 TA with cars and concepts t-tops, 79 TA, and a 88 GTA. The 79 was my first car. The 76 had a dual 4 455 lol. I sold the 79 to a friend that introduced it to a huge tree about 6 months later.

I sold the 76 and bought this 68 GTO. I had it painted carousel red.

Here comes the Judge! I bought this 69 Judge. PHS documented RAIV 4-speed. The engine, trans and hood were in the building. In the background is a 70 GTO hardtop.

I traded the 88 GTA for this 94 Trans Am GT. What a piece of junk. I hated this car. It was in the shop every 2 months for some reason.

I sold the 68 GTO and bought a 70 GTO Convertible. I done a frame off restoration on it. Loved that car. 6 years of blood, sweat, and tears.lol I also traded the 94 TA for a 96 WS6 TA. What a car! I also had a moment of luck and ended up with one of Mark Martin's Winston Cup cars.

I sold the Judge to Peter Serio because I needed a nice trailer for the cup car. I also sold the conv. because of an IRS issue with the cup car. lol I also got rid of the 96 TA. Apparently I'm not too smart. ::)

Now I have this. 79 WS6 TA that I am building from the ground up. The friend of mine that wiped out my first car let me raid it and I got all the parts off of it that I could use.

It looks good in the pic but it had serious issues. Roof problems from a poor attempt to install t-tops and about 1/2" of bondo all over it! I found out about that when chunks of paint started falling off. It is going to be very nice when it is done though.
I also sold the cup car.  :)

Yes, George, you are right, the Bandit II's were mainliy built on Firebirds.  I have seen some of the Bandit II cars with 6cyl in them as well.  Luckily, mine is the 305 V8..... but yes, it is a Firebird Bandit II.

Ya Brett,
The very first one I ever saw, was back around 1994.]
We went looking for car for my girlfriend, and found a 1991 Bandit II at the local dealership.
I thought it was really cool, something that I would put together (like second gen hood scoop).
I figured someone did it themselves.
So we didn't get it, as the dealership wanted big bucks for it.
A year later, I found out it was legit.
Win some, lose some (I just wonder why I lose more than I win) ;)

Oh yeah, Captain Mancini the evil car collector.  A 1928 Porter convertible.  The year was 1965.  Kind of like Mr. Ed but with a car.

A little late to the party but better late than never...

These were my dad's:

71 Dodge Superbee

If my memory serves...it was a 3spd auto, 383 car. Posi was added when my dad tracked down a racer in Southern Tier NY who was tearing them out of race cars to upgrade to another setup. And he's fond of telling me he twisted the drive shaft in that car one winter when it went from ice to dry pavement and REALLY hooked up. I know the next two owners of the car - my grandfather and then my aunt. Last I knew this car was in Danbury CT being restored by some kid and my dad tracked him down after finding the ORIGINAL window sticker for it. IF you know the whereabouts of this car I'd be very interested in talking to the current owner.

**The blue car you can probably just make out is a 68 4 door Dodge Coronet. Yep my parents were Mopar nuts but the dodge local dealer took care of that when they serviced the '86 Daytona.

70's Chevy Monza Spider

3spd automatic 305 powered. My dad sold it to buy the '86 Daytona Turbo Z when the chevy dealer put the car up on the lift and showed him the front subframe was separating from the firewall. I believe it was sold to a kid who promptly wrapped it around a tree.

If I can track down where my mom put our photos I'll see about posting up the '86 Daytona.

3spd automatic 305 powered. My dad sold it to buy the '86 Daytona Turbo Z when the chevy dealer put the car up on the lift and showed him the front subframe was separating from the firewall.

SON OF A GUN!

I had a 1977 Olds Starfire that I put a built SBC into after the 231 V6 croaked.  It was a 4 speed and the front end would come up off the line and with hard 1-2 and 2-3 shifts.  I traded it off after the front subframe started to rip out around the passenger side upper control arm.  I found out only a couple of years ago that in order to properly handle the torque from a V8, the front subframe needed extra supports that you could weld in. :-\ :-\

I DID love that car, though.  All the capacity of an SUV with a little of the Firebird sportiness.  The hatchbacks were better -- I didn't care for the notchbacks at all. ???

Yep this was a factory 305 hatchback. The subframe issue is the only reason my dad got rid of the car as it was in very good shape in '86 when he sold it. It's one of the first cars we painted together in the back yard using a spray gun my mom bought from Sears as a christmas gift for him. And the Monza was replaced by yet another hatchback - '86 daytona turbo z.

Ever have any problems with the front glass? Apparently a leak developed very early on so washer fluid (and rain/snow) would leak down into the radio which eventually caused it to blow. I still have that radio sitting in my room as a neighbor who loved to tinker took a look at it and got it to work again - no idea what he replaced/hotwired.

Hmm maybe that's why I like the TA's so much....

No, I didn't have problems with the windshield leaking -- but the trim strips around it would hum or buzz at highway speeds and it nearly drove me crazy.  I ended up shimming them with corners off the old Hollerith cards to shut them up.

It was the first car I ever owned with a cable clutch setup.  The cable frayed on us the morning we were leaving Salt Lake City and I pulled it to check it in the parking lot of a McDonald's.  There was ONE wire still holding it together.  We were due in Laramie, Wyoming that night and this was on a Sunday morning, in a Mormon town, with no garages open.  I elected to drive it nonstop and not use the clutch.  I did it.  The wife wasn't happy because there were NO restroom "breaks", and it took 7 hours because normally 400 miles was the furthest I could go on one tank so I was driving for max mileage.  I averaged 29 MPG with a V6, and somehow she managed to not pee the seat.  She was, however, rather anxious to leave the car once we got to the hotel. :D :D

Definitely not anything exciting, but I came across these pictures last night while going through some more boxes.  This is the 1973 Vauxhall Ventora I drove while stationed at RAF Bentwaters, England 1981-1983.  I couldn't afford much at the time as I didn't even have any stripes when I got there and left with only two.

These are taken somewhere in Felixstowe for all you UK folks......

If you guys had any idea how much cash I got in those bikes, especially the green one you guys would not be laughing at them, lol. It is ridicoulous how expensive it is to mod one of those, restoring a T/A is chump change by comparison. (if you do the work yourself that is)

Oh yeah, I knew that already.  You can spend big money on a bike quicker than it'll do the quarter mile...lots quicker. :-\

Ok finally scanned up a couple photos of my first car - '86 Daytona Turbo Z...

***Please hold - photos didn't auto shrink on 78ta so moving them to photobucket...

***That's better ;)

Picture was taken on Old Broadway in Buffalo NY right next to the then Conrail Frontier Yard (its now CSX's yard due to CSX and Norfolk Southern buying out Conrail). Looks to be around winter time as the winter steel rims are on instead of the aluminum wheels.

So, Russ -- the only Fords that light you up are former cop cars, eh?  No Mustangs or Probes? ??? ???

You know it's so funny that every time I see one of these 3rd gen T/As (or Formulas) I like them more and more, but I despised them back in the 80s because I felt if it didn't have a Pontiac V8 then it wasn't a real T/A.

OK -- finally got around to collecting mine...not posting the obvious 1975 TA I still have...

thanks for the compliment.....i really do miss it....i mean whenever i see it i have mixed emotions, it makes me smile to remember all the good times i had but them almost makes me cry when i think about it being gone. it truly was a beautiful car & ridiculously fast. mild build 73 455, th400 & 3.90 gears.

i was too young to appreciate it fully & didnt realize what it was untill a couple years after it was gone. (hence going to the junkyard where it was to buy it back) but at least now i can appreciate what i have & one day will have a clone of it if i can find a good 78 project with carmine interior to paint silver. like i said i still have the 455 motor that it had & the rims & a few other items from it...just waiting for a host car to bring them back to life....

anybody got a solid 78 t/a they wanna send to a good home????
